The price of x player doesn't necessary determine the price of y player. That's not how transfers in football seem to work. Also, if Barcelona can get ten million, far less for the 30 million for Pedro, that would be wonderful business and I would probably congratulate them.

The club that purchases Pedro for 30 mil is stupid and probably is into money laundering.

Hardly anyone goes for their 'value' nowadays.

Benteke was Aston Villa's most prized possession. And Liverpool were desperate enough to pay his release clause. Notice how no one else came in for him when his RC was there for years.

Pedro is a fringe player at barcelona where Barcelona won't think twice before selling if a good price comes up. And Pedro will leave as well since he isn't guaranteed a regular spot at Barcelona.

I think it's fair to pay something like 20m euros for him in today's age. But I highly doubt anyone would pay over 30m.

If im any team looking to win things, I am not remotely intrested in Pedro. If im an Europa level club then I have some interest, but I am not willing to pay any more than 12m euro, bottom line lol

Even that im hesitant about. Why would I sign Pedro for 12m when I can find some 20 year old who will be better than him.

This is van Gaal we're talking about.

He doesn't want players that are 'good', he wants players that are 'good under van Gaal'.

Pedro would not be required to dribble past anyone, or score, or anything like that.
He'd be required to move where he's supposed to, pass where he is supposed to, play a one two as practised in training and then hit a cross now and then.
Pretty sure he's a good fit for that.

Let's put it differently.
If Man United bought both Neymar and Pedro this window, Pedro would get more minutes than Neymar next season.

It sounds ridiculous, but you know I'm right.

As for the fee, 30m €, with the pound strong as it is, is peanuts for Woodward.

Its funny that we have a club here who have a Flo-Wannabe as a sporting director and the epitome of Anti-Flo as a coach.

Agreed Hans, which is why he crashes and burns eventually at every club he's at with any sort of high profile player.

Alkmaar was a perfect fit for him actually, full of young kids who do as their told and don't question him.

That's why Callejon never, ever, starts over Pedro for Spain?

IMO Pedro price goes from 20 to 30 milion. Both ends being fair.

Having said that, it's false that Pedro only contributes goals, and I refer to his magnific game in the title deciding match vs. Atletico. If Messi had played that game, there'd be like 5 gifs alone from his great plays in that match.

With a squad like that, and the according investment of the last years, what would be considered 'flopping', or 'succeeding'?
Most expensive PL squad ever.

Surely you'd expect them to compete for the league title, and attack the CL knockouts hmm

I do expect that Hans, but i don't expect them to win the league though. Even on paper they are inferior to a couple of teams IMO.

Fabregas starts over Isco. Juanfran starts over Carvajal. Iker starts over DDG Doesn't mean much what VDB does. He needs to retire for the better of the NT

Casillas starting over DDG is a questionable decision but Cesc and Juanfran over Isco and Carvajal are pretty obvious choices.

Pedro for €25m is day light robbery, we may as well wear a mask.

Pedro is a Thomas Muller with a better first touch and speed.

Just putting it out there. Always rated Pedro above Di Maria when they were both in Spain.

the lads on redcafe seem positive about the move tbh :coffee:

not gonna pretend like I've watched him much the last few seasons but I wouldn't mind him as a depth player but 30m seems ridiculous, although when you factor in the kinda money PL teams throw around and our financial standing it's pretty much irrelevant

Redcafe clearly watches only BPL and still thinks it's 2011.

or

Free and Linetty have been doing incredible internet marketing work on Pedro and selling the idea he is actually a good player.
