Re: The Official Winter Transfer Rumours Thread
William Carvalho springs to mind immediately, he's a very good passer and doesn't avoid responsibility in the build up of an attack while doing his defensive duty. He's young as opposed to Thiago Motta/Soriano who would've been the options if we did not have Arteta/Flamini in the squad.

And we'd surprisingly be a lot better off than the Coq+Rambo failed experiment.

Re: The Official Winter Transfer Rumours Thread
on Palermo’s interest in Joel Campbell…
We haven’t got anything concrete from anybody.
on Nacho Monreal signing a new three-year deal…
No. I’m happy with his performances but at the moment we are not in negotiations for a new contract.
on Mathieu Flamini…
I expect him to be here in September. I spoke to him. At the moment he is not involved but he has no intention of leaving. He will be involved at some stage. He works very hard and his intention is to stay.
on links to Grzegorz Krychowiak…
No.

Yes because everyone will bend over backwards and sell you anything and everything you want. Please go.
I don't have a problem with your views, just don't get why you have to curse Wenger in every post on this thread.

3 EPL titles in 18 years and he is our greatest manager. Wenger is his own boss and nothing anyone can do about that. A good manager can win the league with bad squad(Alex Ferguson), only Wenger can be happy with 4th place with a good squad. The way things are and how much others are improving we will never win the league with Wenger again.
I expect nothing from Wenger and still get disappointed, I guess I love the club too much.

Re: The Official Winter Transfer Rumours Thread
I love the club too much. That is exactly why Wenger has my respect for keeping this club from going into the obscurity like many other 'top' teams have done when going through financially hard times.
SAF comparisons are 'delusional', to borrow from your vocabulary, considering the financial clout and commercial muscle MU started building about TEN YEARS before we started. And SAF never had a bad squad - don't know which parallel universe you were living in all these years.
Guess it is indeed hard to keep everyone satisfied all the time.

We are being linked with Clinton Njie, don't know if its agent tactics but as talented as the guy is. He is not what we need at the moment.

L'Equipe saying today that Lyon are waiting for us to put in a bigger bid. Sounds like Spurs may be playing lowball and Lyon are trying to drive up the price by bringing our name into it.
Doubt we're in for the player at all.
EDIT: Oh look, N'Jie to Spurs is now official.

On another note,Zamparini is supposedly in London to sign Joel Campbell permanently. The deal has been put off by Arsenal's demands before.
Poor fellow. He was seen training hard yesterday and still wants to make it here.
Whatever has happened to Silva? He has been given #58 and is in the first team squad list. What do Arsenal plan to do with him?Does AW even know such a player even exists?

Palermo sold Dybala for a lot of money this summer, I hope we milk them as much as possible.

Re: The Official Winter Transfer Rumours Thread
Nah, we never milk a club. Palermo is still a poor club despite what they got for Dybala lol.
Best is sell low and put a sell-on clause. Like Vela.
Also guys please forget Benzema. It was fun and laugh before. But now it's getting a bit too far. He is not leaving.

Manchester City are out there looking to sign Otamendi/De Bruyne while we are content with the same team that finished 3rd last season + Cech. Explains the difference in ambition both clubs have.

Re: The Official Winter Transfer Rumours Thread
Indeed, signing a serially-winning goalkeeper from a rival club and trying to sign Benzema from Real Madrid is evidence of a criminal lack of ambition. Also not holding back on paying big wages and renewing the contracts of our players shows just where this club's intentions lie.

Re: The Official Winter Transfer Rumours Thread
All these Benz talk is so close yet so far. It's definitely way further than Suarez year. We havent made any bid at least officially, none of the parties has come out and say something. Real doesnt seem to look at anyone in the market, no way they let Benz go w/o like to like or upgraded replacement. All in all, I has no belief at all that we could sign him and we're in it for him that much. At least, Suarez I could dream and got crushed but now meh.
Our biggest mistake if there will ever be one is not "not" to sign Benz but that proper DM. That will bite us in the end if Wengers doesnt rectify it soon.

We have been showing ambition, only looking for "exceptional" players.

I think we can survive without a top class defensive midfielder, other PL winning teams have before but the striker issue is way too big to ignore. I don't remember a PL team winning the league with someone at Giroud's level as their starting striker. Before the season started I thought Walcott would gradually take that place but it's clearly not been the case.

urban do you think we would have a better chance of winning the league with Walcott up top?

There's no actual reliable sources who say that's true though.
