I'm just unsure about MTV doing a fantasy series. It's reputation for bro and ho shows is pretty clear. Not sure they'll be able to attract fantasy fans the way Syfy could.

Initially People will sit up and notice cause the CG is top notch but to prolong the interest they will have to work hard. If the acting is shite (which i am having a feeling would be the case) i think the show will sink. Being on MTV alone, it would be hard for them to pull people into it. Its a great story isnt it?! So hope the actors back it up. and hope the dialogues and other things aren't crap teenage stuff.

Are there any goat shows Im not aware of?

By goat shows I meant shows like BB,Got, The wire etc. After finishing the wire i was looking for a new show to fall into.Some body here suggested me Homeland and I liked it for first two season then it went downhill. They should not have killed that soldier.

Then I fell in the The walking dead hype around here and thanks to that i no longer fears Zombies. Then saw Supernatural hitting 9th season and 55th thread here so went for it, watched all 9 season. I used to fear ghosts alot but now I sleep peacefully, ghosts are like comedy characters to me thanks to Supernatural. I also suspect they were writing scripts on the site and many episodes probably had no script at all.

Mcagger was wanking to Person of Interest so gave it a try. Guess what, shit indeed. Hero with James Bond imitation and no expression in the entire series ...Computer gives a person's id and he is either going to get killed or he is the killer. Each episode each scenario. After a while gets really boring with the repetition.

Then as a saving grace Mr. Robot came, it is a solid show but never a goat.. After completing it my quest for goat show restarted. Found The sopranos :bow: Nothing to add more, a classic and a must watch. Is there any goat shows going right now? Any shows from the past?

Homeland drops off in the third season but gets better in the last 2 seasons. Especially this past season was epic.

Criminal minds is a good serie. Hawaii 5-0 is pretty good too but like poi it gets repetitive later on. I also liked the bridge which was quite interesting and unique

Amazing story. Some of the best high fantasy I've ever read. Unique in that Terry Goodkind was able to keep it going spanning generations of both his characters and his readers.

Along those same lines, I had high hopes for The Legend of the Seeker (TV show based on the Sword of Truth series, also among my favorites.), but I think it was before its time (came out just before GOT) so the CW, well known for having the same demographic as MTV, cancelled it due to low ratings, despite it having a pretty dedicated fan base. I fear the same for this show on a network like MTV. Things are different this time around with Fantasy being in vogue, but I just don't see this having the staying power on MTV that something like Teen Wolf currently has.

I sure as hell hope I'm wrong.

That looks quite good tbh, though i've heard a lot of major criticisms regarding Goodkind's use of plot elements. One of the main reasons that drove me away from reading The Sword of Truth series.

If that series ends up like GoT, then i hope we see more High Fantasy series being adapted as TV shows. I only want to see Malazan with an infinite budget, but that series is nigh impossible to adapt sadly Sad

Still, hope to see any of Sanderson's works adapted to TV (he even openly stated that he's open to anime on reddit Laughing) Mistborn, Stormlight, anything.

Woah mate, Person of Interest is a hand-me-down show for me. I would never classified as anything close to a great show. It would barely scratch the surface of a good show, if that. It's a meh show I watched for 2 seasons and dropped for the reasons you specified. There were some decent episodes but too *bleep* repetitive.

As far as goat shows, I don't know what you haven't watched yet, but you can't go wrong with anything from this list.

GoT
Breaking Bad
House of Cards
Justified
True Detective
Fargo
Spartacus
Black Mirror
Rome
Deadwood
The Newsroom
Sherlock
The Americans

PS. Supernatural did the same thing for me with ghosts Laughing I watched American Horror Story and the main horror plot was about a ghost haunting a house and I *bleep* died laughing at the stupidity of it.

@Halatletico

Might give Homeland a kick start although not a fan of restarting once went bad show.

Criminal minds is over 11 seasons holy shet... If my experience is anything to go by then a show with too much seasons basically sucks script wise. I'm a huge admirer of shows with good script and 11 seasons is a big risk imo... What if the show went downhill after say 8 seasons!!

@M69

Already saw TD1 &2... First was pretty goat imo.. Second was forgettable. A let down.

Looked up Band of Brother and looks like a must watch.. Tops on my priority list.

@El Connor

Dexter yeah.. Tried 1st season but not impressed.

@Dont call me hamaz

Its my fault. I didn't bother asking any one opinion about poi ,I just went by the reaction in the thread.

Thanks for the v big list.. Although I think Spartacus absolutely sucks, watched it first couple of seasons.

I just seen the second episode of that so decieed to watch it from the beginning. I just hope not all of them die. Who do you think is the killer? Something tells me its the recruiter

Good show but its a british show so it will probably only have 3 or 4 episode before they are done for the season/serie
