Always wary of reports that emerge from anonymous sources as soon as a player is out the door.

I really hope that Allen is part is true though. rofl rofl rofl

Studge coming closer to being fit. Looks like he's put on some muscle too. Dat American rehab training though. :coffee:

Having him back will be great if he can come back at 100% and retains his movement. A clinical finisher on our team will be nice. I think they'll start introducing him slowly...subbing him in maybe for Coutinho or Firmino for the first few apps to give him a chance to play with Tekkerz and see how that partnership goes.

if sturridge comes back in the team it will mean a big money signing will have to sit out. wich begs the question as to why buy a player that wont play infront of a player we allready had. scratch

Well, we're going to have a lot of fixtures between cup matches, Europa and the league anyway plus managing gametime + injuries can take its toll. However, assuming 'best' line-up scenario we don't really have to sit a big money signing.

Henderson - Milner - Coutinho
Firmino
Benteke - Sturridge

In a 4-3-1-2 would be our best line-up for me. No 'big money' signings sitting, and anyway players should be prepared to fight for a spot. Most big clubs have big money signings sitting on the bench. It's the nature of the game if you want to have a great, deep squad that challenges on multiple fronts.

You have won two games, that's enough winning for one season imo.

i agree with you on that mate. but if we play sturridge and big ben we wont see can in the team. and i would really to see more of can. when fit coutinho. firmino. big ben. henderson and milner will play. so that would leave a spot for either can. or sturridge.

Only one of Hendo or Milner should play majority of the matches imo. Against top teams both should start but otherwise Can + one of them + both Phil and Bob behind two strikers. Of course it wont happen but it would be the most balanced side. We've already seen Hendo and Milner without anyone else doesn't really work.

Post by Art Morte Fri Aug 28, 2015 11:31 am

Sunderland Echo wrote:Black Cats manager Dick Advocaat has criticised the money wasted on “lower than average” players by his Sunderland predecessors.

“We had a big past here and I know a little bit about the salary of players – average players, lower than average players and that’s crazy," he said.

“People who bought those kind of players for those transfer fees and gave them those salaries didn’t care about the club.

"Supporters have to understand that before you can have a new start, you have to get rid.”

He's pretty much right, of course, but I'm not sure that's a clever thing to say as the manager. Also, when you bring in someone like Kaboul, you're doing exactly what you've just criticized the previous managers for.

Mangala is just as bad.
De Bruyne's amount is also ridiculous, but guess we still have to wait and see how he does.

DiMaria is the worst flop. At least Torres scored a semifinal CL goal en route to CL win. And scored in the EL final. And had a 22 goal season for Chelsea.

DiMaria rofl

Carroll and Mangala are so effing out of place on that list.

Sterling, KdB, Mangala remain to be seen.

Sanchez, Agüero great business.

The rest flops or semi-flops (generally okay players that aren't worth their fees or didn't make much of an impact, like Mata and Özil).
