As noted earlier, WWE announced that Seth Rollins will not be able to defend the World Heavyweight Championship title against Roman Reigns at Survivor Series event due to suffering an injury at Wednesday's WWE Live Event. Instead, a tournament to determine a new champion will be held.

Dave Meltzer speculated on today's installment of Wrestling Observer Live that Roman Reigns is a strong candidate to capture the WWE title at Survivor Series. Meltzer also talked about the company possibly bringing back John Cena or Brock Lesnar earlier than scheduled.

In regards to Sheamus capturing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, he said it's not very likely.

No idea why Bray Wyatt's never a contender for the title. Since the products shit currently, now would be the perfect time to start a takeover storyline. He's already captured Taker/Kane anyway, so there's part 1.

They've hinted in the past few weeks that Ambrose might turn on Reigns, so a swerve involving Reigns turning on Ambrose instead and turning heel wouldn't be too bad either imo.

Bray had a really well done promo on raw where he turned into an all powerful being, bringing down thunder and shit. Obviously in 2015 no one believes this type of cinematics but if the storyline is executed well we'll watch this shit. Will the WWE capitalize on this and give him the title or will they stick to the old storyline they had for him before (assuming that they had a storyline beyond one segment)

In that Raw they also had a traditional 5v5 survivor series elimination match which featured rollins, owens, reigns, and ambrose (and some other jobbers). These guys are the future of WWE and any of them has a realistic chance at the title now.

But that's the predictable route ! The WWE can surprise us all and bring some NXT rookie and give him the title ! out of the guys they have there now i can think of Appolo crews as a perfect candidate, but there are a lot of other guys. Or maybe, just maybe, give Cesaro the title and see what he can do with it, hell align him with Heyman, give him the title, and have him turn on him when Lesnar is back !

So there will be a PPV tournament for the world title at Survivor Series...
17 years ago at Survivor Series 1998 there was also a PPV tournament for the WWF title...
In that tournament a face won his very first WWF title and immediately turned heel to join the heel authority faction led by a McMahon...
The reason he turned heel was because he kept getting booed...
He then proceeded to feud with a deranged lunatic...
That man was a guy called the Rock...
Reigns is the Rock's cousin...
The Authority is currently in control of WWE with a McMahon at the helm...

Ergo, Reigns to win his first title, turns heel and feuds with Ambrose hmm

Either that or Cena returns early...

According to sources, WWE is likely to be calling in some "very big names" to appear on TV now that Seth Rollins is out for up to nine months with a knee injury. The timing of the injury is particularly bad with John Cena, [Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton and other big names on hiatus for various reasons, which could lead to WWE bringing in some major names.

It wasn't noted if these "big names" would be for RAW or scattered throughout the coming weeks until Survivor Series, or even for Survivor Series itself.

A report yesterday suggested that, Sting should he be healed up from his injuries and able to return to the ring, Sting might be used for Survivor Series in Undertaker and Kane's expected match with the Wyatts so that is always a possibility.

They needed big names regardless of Rollins' injury imo.

Would have a Wyatt takeover story, with Bray putting a spell on Taker/Kane etc and forming a new ministry of darkness. Could possible involve an Ambrose heel turn on Reigns too.

As noted, WWE officials and writers will be spending the next few days re-writing most of their future storyline plans, including WrestleMania 32 plans, as Seth Rollins has vacated the WWE World Heavyweight Title and will be out of action for 6-9 months.

WWE had plans for Roman Reigns vs. Rollins to main event this month’s Survivor Series pay-per-view and the December TLC pay-per-view. We don’t know exactly when the change would have taken place but creative plans did have Rollins dropping the WWE World Heavyweight Title to Reigns, according to PWInsider. The plan going into 2016’s WrestleMania season was for Reigns to be champion.

No word yet on how those plans for Reigns will factor into the Survivor Series tournament to crown a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Rollins is scheduled to fly back home from the UK today or tomorrow and will be heading back home to Iowa. Surgery had not been scheduled as of last word but it is imminent.

One of the worst reigns I've seen since starting watching WWE

But it wasn't all down to him though. He was never really booked as a champion but someone who was warming it up for Lesnar/Reigns

There's something to be said about keeping the crowd interested............... he did not. Apart from that whole knee to Cena rubbish he was flat out boring. Stale as hell. His work on the mic was just dire.

Who did he make look better in the ring? Laughing

Ambrose?
Sting?
Kane?

The dude can work in the ring (probably the best in the biz atm) but I didn't see anybodies level come up because of Rollins.

Thing is Rollins isn't totally shit. He's improved on the mic, played the cowardly heel role decently, was funny at times and can wrestle.

It's just his overall package in terms of what he offers isn't World title level. He's an upper midcarder at best and you can easily swap him for The Miz, Del Rio, Cody Rhodes etc and they'd do the same thing.

But to be World champion, you need to be elite/insanely over.

I'm not saying he's worse than them or anything, I just think he's in the same tier as them. That class of Barrett, Miz, Cody, Swagger, Del Rio, Ziggler etc. Basically upper midcarders who aren't good enough to be World champ. Any one of those guys could have done what Rollins did during his reign, which is just be a standard/generic heel.

Then you move onto the elite level, where you have guys like Punk, Bryan, Cena, Orton, Lesnar etc. Guys who people would actually tune into watch RAW for and are either extremely over, larger than life or unique.
