florentino didn't sign lass, just for the record. he was signed mid-season in the 08/09 season. i can't remember if boluda or calderon made the signing. it was either just after or just before calderon was forced out. imo a man like florentino probably only sees green. he doesn't strike me as a donald sterling type...but one never knows. and even if a person signs a diverse race of people it doesn't mean they still can't be racisit e.g. donald sterling. it could just be a shield

calderon was forced out around February iirc. but yeah, lass was signed in winter 09.

okay thanks, that means it was boluda responsible for the lass and huntelaar mess up since we could only bring one cup tied player.....and calderon is still responsible for the faubert debacle. i always like remembering the rubbish some of these presidents have done. calderon keeps acting like he didn't recruit guys like faubert, saviola, drenthe, et al...back to the topic, too early to say who pogba will be better than, hell, zizou was an attacking mid...compare pogba to vieira, petit, etc. and no he's not defensive mid like makelele or deschamps

There are 3 can't miss midfielders that are very young in the world right now... Verratti, Thiago and Pogba. Then you have a tier below that will likely be very good but you aren't quite sure yet.

I think Verratti is a bit better tbh, his performances in the CL really impressed me last year. Although both have a loads of room to grow tbf.

Different type of players who are both better than each other at certain things. In terms of potential IMO Pogba has a lot more in his locker. But Verratti can obviously have a better career since he is really mature

The 3 are different, but all great at what they do. I'm not sure who I think its better between Verratti and Pogba, but Thiago is a little below. All of them the best in their age group though

Our winning streak came back with Marchisio's return. Pogba has been ridiculously good this season, but at the beggining we were playing with Padoin/Hernanes/Lemina/Sturaro in the mid. Pogba was alone and tried to do everything. He exploded when he was allowed to just play his game after marchisio's reurn.

Yet to see him dominate anything in the CL. Verratti has been performing in CL for years while Gundogan's 12/13 campaign was some of the best stuff I've ever seen a young midfielder do. Regarding the comparasion with Thiago, it's quite clear who is the better midfielder. Tbh I'm expecting Pogba to have a similar performance against Bayern as he had vs Barca in the CL final.

Well, he was invisible against Real Madrid whether he assisted or not. But he has another chance to impress now against Bayern. Let's see what he's got.

Gundogan is 25, how far are we going to stretch this 'young talent' thing? Might as well include Bonaventura there
