I wrote best. Not most popular.

Fassbender has 5 performances better than Leo's best.

All I know is that Nolan is a visionary and an elite filmmaker, and my personal favourite.

Where did I or anyone say anything about Nolan being best director Laughing Get out of r/movies man.

Also lets not ignore The Aviator (a bit further back), Blood Diamond, The Wolf of Wall Street and The Revenant when talking about the last 10 years.

No one turns rabid but they do tend to get irked when you call people who rate Leo as the best casuals and try to brush him of a just the most popular actor.

Should I mention now that Leo would have all performances from 5-10 in a combined top 10? I just think Hunger, Shame, 12yas and Steve Jobs are better.

I absolutely love Leo in WoWS which is probably one of my top 10 films of all time.

Also I didn't call anyone here casuals. I said 3-4 months ago that Leo was the most popular actor amongst casuals.

I have no problem with you thinking Fassbender is the best since it's all subjective but 5 performances thing is horse shit.

It's all subjective, but my opinion is horse shit? How does that even make sense. Leo doesn't move me emotionally. I have never cried during a scene with Leo, I barely really feel sick to my stomach, I have rarely been utterly mesmerized. That's how I've felt about Fassbender 4 times, which is more than I've been with Leo.

Yeah Laughing Before I watched Schindler's List though. Joseph Fiennes should've won that one. What was the other one? The Aviator?
It isn't really relevant in who I think is the best though.

Also back on Assassin's Creed. The reasons I am optimistic about it is

Talent involved. Fassbender, Cottilard, Kurzel delivered Macbeth a few months ago which was really good. Fassbender is one of the greatest actors in the world, Cotillard is also an elite actress, Kurzel is a good director, Jeremy Irons has a penchant for playing GOAT villains.

Ubisoft was heavily involved and had creative control. This was unheard of stuff, no video game adaptation had creative control from the original game developer. Many industry experts said that the film would never get made with how much control Ubisoft was demanding to have.

It is not based on any game so it wont have any problem of condensing a 10-20 hour narrative to a 2 hour movie. It is a part of the AC universe of the main games, spin offs, novels, comics, facebook games etc. Same universe as the games with a brand new story specifically created for the big screen.

Also really love the way the've reimagined the animus. The way Callum moves together with it makes it believable that he's going to learn the assassin's move due to muscle memory once he has to kill Jeremy Irons.

Ariane Labed is also a future great actress. Really liked her in limited roles in Before Midnight and The Lobster.

Also Michael K Williams aka Omar aka Chalky is also on the film Molenation

However I have to say this comment on Facebook absolutely killed me rofl

There will be a scene where Fassbender can't open a golden case because he is not logged into UPlay.

I don't know how much creative control they really has. They probably have veto rights, as they own the property. But Legendary and Duncan Jones probably has the most.

Not getting into the Fassbender v Leo debate, but this is pretty much my opinion on Leo as well.

I have only seen Revenant, Inception & Titanic though. I can see that is good acting, but it doesn't move me. Heck, I was more moved by Tom Hardy in Revenant.

Can you guys recommend some GOAT performances from him? Need to make a more thought-out opinion.

The Wolf of Wall Street, The Aviator, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Blood Diamond, Revolutionary Road, Shutter Island, Gangs of New York, The Departed.

The last three his performances are great as well but watch it because the movies are amazing more so than the performances.

Don't personally see a problem with calling Fassbender the best. He's incredible.

Will he have the longevity of Leo? We'll see. They're two actors in two different stages of their career, this is like comparing future GOAT Munir al Fraudadi with Defoe.

Post by Lucifer Fri May 13, 2016 9:07 am

Yesterday watched the regional indian movie "Sairat" in Marathi language. Believe me it's one of the best movies made that I have ever seen. How many times you come out of theatre speechless and haunted by the story and characters?. The story tells the love story of two teenagers of different caste strata. The girl being the so called upper caste has father who is local politician. They are beaten badly just before they elope together ultimately being brutally murdered by the girls father. The story sounds little cliche but what makes this movie such a masterpiece is the lead and supporting actors. No one of them have any previous experience of acting not even in school or colleges yet the the girl got the national award for her performance, the highest recognition in India. Am really proud of such movies who instead of those crappy Bollywood and their crappy songs actually exhibit the real culture of India. I would really recommend this movie to everyone that believes art has no boundaries. This is Indian cinema at its best.

Will watch those Leo movies.

@Lucifer, ya I've heard good stuff about that. Marathi cinema has produced some good stuff, has a good reputation. Much better than other regional cinema.

Sairat is the highest grossing Marathi movie if I'm not wrong? Will watch it soon.
