Re: Ousmane Dembélé
anyone who's played footy at even a semi pro level knows you have to make those risks.. otherwise you're basically useless as an attacking player

I was gone for a few days, I thought Barca fans hated him because he's a "mediocre scrub"?

Because aside from that he barely made any bad decisions or turned the ball over.
Oh and btw Messi has 100s of turnovers and bad decisions every season, as do every forward who try to make things happen while the rest stand around looking at the floor.
Unless you want your forwards to be expressionless robots you have to accept that comes with the territory.
I wish I could find his individual highlights which I usually can on YouTube but cause this is CL, Uefa are more stringent with copyrights than La Liga.
Regardless there were numerous occasions where he showed he lacked any basic intelligence. Many a times he was uninvolved in the play where he could have with better positioning on the left, numerous occasions when he played poor unnecessary passes that were cut off. And also there is no need to dribble like that in the middle of the park with 11 opponents behind the ball and lose it straight away. Also he is nowhere as technical as his advocates make him out to be. He has a poor first touch and his style of pacey dribbling is very uncontrolled and erratic. You can see that one the freekick that he won and Messi converted. Lots of poor touches while he dribbles but that time he got away with being fouled.
There's a reason I call him Dumbélé.

People call him young but honestly, 21 is not that young any more. The lack of professionalism can be seen on and off the pitch.

So summer last year, it was FC Barcelona itself that told Dembélé not showing up for training was a good thing.
Now they've changed their mind?

yep. The kid needed to be put in his place, showing up two hours late as if he was Ronaldinho or something

Two different things imo. Teaching your kid to rob school kids is fine, him using that to rob you is outright despicable and wrong imo.

50 minutes is an odd time. Pleb probably tried to come an hour early and was 10 minutes late

Re: Ousmane Dembélé
RAC1 reports all of this and they're a radio station so they're not like you typical media. Their info is mostly on point.
Also it's not THAT big of a deal really so I don't see why would the lie about it.

Re: Ousmane Dembélé
Dembele is a rough diamond. I think Barca will rue losing him if they push him out. The captain should be on the case, Pique needs to take Dembele under his wing instead of moaning about RFEF president and whatever the f else the dude is up to. He is being hung out to dry and fed to the management by his senior teammates. Not good, he needs guidance

Mandem needs to read the stories of Cassano and Balotelli to know he needs to work hard or he'll be in the bin before he knows it. And with him, his dreams.

He's not a favourite really lol, i just feel like the criticism is overly harsh and i wouldn't be surprised if Barca is feeding false info to force him out.
Wouldn't be the first time a club of that size has done that and i very rarely believe a corporation over a player without proof.

Re: Ousmane Dembélé
Great goal. I feel like Ousmane tends to be a hit or miss in situations like that, though. If Tottenham's defenders had kept their composure and prevented him from scoring, this would have been a scenario that I've seen from him several times in the past, where he opts to take on defenders instead of passing it to a team mate in a better position. It's his playing style and he's only playing to his strengths, but generally speaking, it would be more ideal if his decision-making was better, in my opinion. That said, he clearly made the right decision this time.

The ostensible problem with his decision making is IMO also due to the fact that anything is possible in any moment from him.
He's completely two footed so he can dribble, pass, shoot in everywhich way in every position, and that wealth of options makes it hard.
It's this sheer unpredictability that makes him so good to watch, for me, though.
His game is creative chaos (which is by the way also why he funtioned so well for Tuchel, who likes his teams to engender some creative chaos in the attacking phase to overcome tight defenses)
