Didn't you insist that Overwatch is an FPS game? If Doom was the best FPS game of all time, you'd still throw it aside in favour of FPS Overwatch?

I meant from a single player point of view, as i have no interest in Doom outside of that anyway.

How so? Adding a multiplayer, online experience to their game may be a different task than what they're used to, but it would be perfect for them, the way I see it. They've already created large, open worlds, they even managed to make herb gathering a non-bothersome task, they know how to create interesting characters and more importantly, interesting quests that aren't the "fetch"- kind. They definitely have the creativity and the right people for the job, from what I can tell. I have my doubts about them being willing to invest the effort and time required to develop an MMO that lives up to peoples' expectations, but I can't think of any other developer who would be able to spark new life into a genre that was popularized, and is still largely carried by Blizzard.

I remember when it was the GOAT MP shooter when it came out and everyone bought PS4s for it (:

I liked it a lot when it came out, but once the PVE stuff dried out it became more of a grind for loot game than fun imo.

Although most MP games on GL don't last very long tbf lol.

I really liked it when it came out too. For the first three months. Then I realised there is no point continuing with the direction they were headed and how repetitive it was.

It was goat till you reached end game and realised there's almost zero content.

It gave me a reason to buy PS4 earlier than expected
