As a Man United fan I am happy to hope that the team will look better with Mourinho than it was with van Gaal, but it's sad to remember how the team was playing with Sir Alex and to think about the fact that it won't be the same at least for a decade or two...

The team coached by Sir Alex was special, it had an unique identity, trademark wins in the stoppage time, comebacks, at some time we were the most feared team in the world along with Barca and Milan. Those days are gone and they will be gone for some time from now on... it's frustrating after you are used to that kind of success.

Still thats a large sum of his budget going to strikers, you'd think they'd shore up the defence and midfield before hand

When you consider West Ham and Palace are offering 30+ for strikers i'd argue that Chelsea spending this amount is probably nothing to them.

I want to put on record my thanks and appreciation for the Newcastle fans.

I will never forget them as long as i live and will be bk as a supporter alongside them 1 day.

Every goal i scored in that famous Number 9 shirt was for them.

I hope that the team are quickly back in the Premier League

We had some great tomes together and hopefully under Rafa those times will return

Tbh he always came across as a nice bloke he cared, just a shame that for a multitude of different reasons it doesn't go well after that initial 6 months and it wasn't always his fault. Although it's clear it's time he left.
