Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
Gonzalo Higuain has signed contract until 2020 with Juventus. His wage will be 7,5M€/season. Soon Juve will pay release clause to Napoli @FabrizioRomano

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
The path is open for Inter to finish top 3, despite the pessimism surround them, they finished 4th last season. With Pjanic and Higgy gone, i can see them being a legit contendor

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
If they retain Pogba they essentially have a super team. I can't remember an era like this with so many monstrous teams. Bayern, Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona and if Atletico get Costa I would put them up there. Usually a team has a cycle when other teams are in decline. Bar the 50s as well Barcelona and Real Madrid never had 2 great teams at the same time. La Quinta del buitre finished then the dream team came etc

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
True but thats still a record breaking fee. 3rd most expensive transfer in football history ffs.
So this means Pjanic + Higuain for Pogba ? I can live with it tbh.

An absolute slap to the face for Napoli it is
Fun fact is the Matic move is still possible if Pogba gets sold for the expected fee.

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
It's kind of dumb imo. Juve don't need Higuain to win Serie A and he's an absolute flop on the biggest stages for both NT and club (CL).
Not to mention he turns 29 in December so he will have very little resale value in 2-3 years.

I agree tbh. I would have preferred if they went for Icardi.

They wouldnt have made this move if they cared about resale value.

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
For 95 mil Euros, you could have probably signed Lewandowski. Heck, Aubameyang too. Both are younger too so you could get a nice price if you decide to move them in 2 years time. At worse, you have 4-5 years of their prime left.
With Higuain, you have a big stage flop who only has 2 years, maybe 3, of his prime left.
It's really, really, really strange by Juve.
I'm not arguing Higuain is a quality player btw. But given Juve's ambitions and his age, It makes very little sense.

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
But S.... what's the point then? Juve surely didn't buy Higuain because they thought he was going to be a difference maker in CL. For Serie A, it's completely unnecessary.
Did they pay the money to weaken their main competition and save face in terms of PR?
I'm no longer a Juve fan for years. But I do watch them and usually want them to do well. This is a very strange move to me.

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
PSG bought Ibra because they needed his brand to build theirs... for all their marketing that Ibra would bring home the CL, the knowledgeable fans knew that Ibra wasn't going to do that... and Ibra is far more talented than Higuain.
Higuain isn't a brand and Juve don't need him for that anyhow. He's a bigger flop in CL than Ibra is. He's not spectacular, technical or charismatic either in the sense that he would be a show in himself. Really... what's the point?

Re: Official: Higuain to Juve
I've had this argument before. The loophole in Higuain's clause is that it can be paid over two years.
As for other targets mentioned, Lewandowski plays for Bayern..
We dont know if Dortmund would even sell Aubameyang this year after having let go three of their star players.
Again, we wouldnt have made this move if we were thinking of moving him to another club in a few years time. We count on him to be our starting striker and deliver the goods for another 3-4 years at least. You see us as we're some Dortmund or something caring about resale value and purchasing young targets.
