Re: 2016/17 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. III
Honestly, I'm really glad we didn't sign him. Marca was reporting we were very close to signing him and I got really scared.
I'm sure he must be talented enough, otherwise, he wouldn't have attracted all these big clubs (if rumors are to be believed). But I'm glad we didn't sign him.
This all goes to show that nobody knows anything and that all these news outlets are just printing lies for clicks.
If you make one, two or even three inaccurate transfer predictions, I can let it slide. But if you keep on doing it constantly, you'll lose your credibility as far as I'm concered.
Seriously who's reliable now? I can't think of anybody.

I haven't seen him so decided to watch this
I know it's highlights and all but he looks pretty good to me tbh, definitely has attributes that you can see why the likes of Barca, Madrid and Juventus were linked.

Not surprised Allegri wanted Andre Gomes, he was ideal as midfielder box to box in his 3-5-2, and so a good replacement for Pogba . There are not many midfielders of this type / level on market

Alexandre Lacazette has told Lyon he wants to move this summer, according to 'several sources'. #PSG and #Arsenal both interested (L'Equipe)

Real Madrid have signed Brazilian youngster Gabriel Jesus to a pre-contract agreement. That is according to Italian website Calcio News 24 (via Spanish publication AS).
This kid has been signed 6 times in the last couple days by City, Barça, Inter, Juventus, United and apparently now Madrid.

i don't think this really proves anything tbh we were linked with gomes since early/mid june for some reason the tabloids like me didn't think it would make sense considering how stacked our midfield..
i highly doubt madrid / juve / manchester united weren't after gomes and it makes sense madrid seems to want another midfield.
juve want a replacement should pogba be sold
manchester united want anything and everything a big club is linked to
this gomes to barca reeks of danilo to real madrid..
both players linked with the rival and the other highjacks it.. just hope it doesn't end bad for us like danilo did.

Dafuq LOL
Just like a few hours ago he had been reported signed to City, with the agreement he would stay at his club until December when he would link up with City (like Kranivetter (what a *bleep* name LOL) with Atletico last season did)

All of our signings (all are gonna be back ups to start the season, so our starting 11 is staying in tact with these guys coming in) are all 22 years old.

I'm hearing that the reason real madrid backed out of gomes (or the reason gomes picked barca over madrid) was that james was going to stay.

Re: 2016/17 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. III
In an interview with Canale 21, Barcelona's Ariedo Braida explains why they backed out of Pogba pursuit:
Clearly when you talk about figures that go over €100million, you need to reflect on them
It all comes down to the TV rights that brought in a lot of money and completely changed the logic of the transfer market. Clearly all players are overrated to some degree or another at this stage
We know Pogba, he is a player who proved to be very strong and, for a while, Barcelona were interested, but clearly the dynamics changed and once the figures reached a certain point, we were no longer interested.
It's hard to keep up at some stage, because you don't only have to consider the price of the transfer fee, but also the player's salary. Over the course of five years, that can amount to tens of millions.

Re: 2016/17 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. III
@donuts, that wouldn't really make sense because James is pretty far down the pecking order and Gomes is an actual CM. ZZ would definitely have played Gomes over him but between Isco and Gomes i think he would have chosen Isco which would be a valid reason for him to reject us
Also have we really signed this Jesus kid. Also he should be loaned out to a club in Europe. The brazilian league is too easy. But it would make sense with Ronaldo turning 34/35 by that time. Jesus would be the replacement i suppose
Lol Barca learning from their mistake with Nerman
@Demon, Guardian and BBC are pretty reliable. Telegraph is too to some degree

So now you've gone from pretending Pogba doesn't leave to pretending Rakitic will succeed him?

I'd be OK with the departure of Rakitic. He's been average last season
