EXCL: #CPFC reach agreement with #LFC to sign Benteke. £27m + addons that could take it above £30m. Travelling to London for medical & terms

Jame Pearce says 27m+5m add ons. Good deal for all parties I suppose.
We essentially loaned him out for a season and got 10 goals from him. Not bad.

Still don't think Palace have enough quality to supply him with chances he needs.
In other news Palace fans are already pissed off at Pardew
Dat feeling when the club who considered you a club legend turns on you faster than we delusional geordies did

According to the mirror, we're ready to bid 22m pounds for Ricardo Rodriguez
It's only taken us all summer to realise he is the best option.

based on the current state of the market that seems low, thinking he'll go for 30-35m

He wants to leave so I'm not surprised, plus he is a fullback, which means he'll cost less as fullbacks are always undervalued.

We paid $26M for Alex Sandro. Ricardo Rodriquez is even better. As Firenze said his value is minimum $30M and probably closer to $35M.

I honestly don't rate him that highly, but it seems that Wolfsburg only want 22m according to reports.
He also had a 21m pound release clause which expired at the end of July so maybe they are sticking to that valuation.

Cuadrado is head back to Juve.
It'll be RicRod and Azpilicueta as fullbacks in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-4.

Nope. I have been a BVB fan for many years. It was just supressed by Arsenal, and now it is just time to embrace it more
Also, I am emotionally less invested in BVB. My psychotherapist tells me it is good for my health

Re: 2016/17 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. IV
Chelsea ready to bid £60 million for Koulibaly...
Chelsea is prepared to bid £60 million for Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly, according to ESPNFC. The report says that despite inferences Napoli would settle for £45 million payment, Chelsea are willing to pay £15 million higher than that to accelerate the deal and to get the player into the club before the end of the window.
Paper Round's view: Despite the figure being largely ludicrous for a defender, it's Chelsea's serious weak point and it will damage any hopes of their title ambitions if left untreated. Koulibaly and another full back, will go a long way to cementing enough depth for the club to work their way into Champions League contention at the very least.

I've written this before, but RicRod did have a clause which would have allowed him to leave for a fixed 25m € (= ~21m £ nowadays) up until June 30th.
Any reports now about clubs 'bidding' for him are either BS (probably) or betray some terrible planning on the side of the quoted club, because while maybe not completely impossible to still buy, he surely won't come as cheap.

You are under estimating Conte. He took a 7th place Juve and went UNDEFEATED in his first year.

Re: 2016/17 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. IV
Serie A's talent was very watered down though. Milan had just lost Ibra and Silva, and they were the only true competition with those guys. Juve was clearly the most talented team when Conte won it.
EPL is a whole other story. Chelsea is in 3rd or 4th in terms of talent right now. So for them to win the EPL, they would need to truly over achieve. The managers for those other teams, however, are Mourinho and Pep Guardiola.
I just don't see it happening.

Sports, i think many will point it but I will now anyways, they went undefeated with Milan's Ibra and Silva.. So your whole point is moot

Milan had not been touched by that point. The only player to depart was Pirlo.
Milan had Ibra (league top scorer) and Silva, and Nesta, and Pato, and El Shaarawy, and Robinho, and Van Bommel, and everyone else.
Milan were reigning champions and first in the league until April and we only beat them by 4 points. Milan fans will surely love to remind you how we gained ground by an incorrectly disallowed goal from Muntary in the direct clash. In the CL they thoroughly beat Arsenal and drew Pep's Barca twice.
We were sooooo far from being favorites at that point. We had finished 7th twice in a row, Conte was coming from Serie B, and he won Serie A without losing a single game. Immense achievement. No team has ever done that in Italy, before or since.
That was over achieving to the max. Get that nonsense out of here.

Re: 2016/17 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. IV
My bad... forgot about that last geriatric year of Milan with Ibra/Silva. So an aging Milan lost its edge in Ibra's last year.
The captain of the team was 34 year old Ambrosini
Nesta and Zambrota were 36 and 35 years old.
Pirlo went to Juve.
Van Bommel, Gattuso and Seedorf were 35, 34 and 36 years of age.
Heck, even a 38 year old Inzaghi was still on the team lol
etc.
Of course these guys couldn't handle all the games and it was a revolving door as I remember it. You had the older guys that felt entitled to play and some younger guys, who were better, but couldn't push the legends out. Pato was really the most exciting young player but this is the year he started getting his crazy injuries.
It was a mess as I remember it. Milan was running out of money so they were trying to hang on to the old guard as long as they could (and then some) since they really couldn't afford to buy anyone to replace them. When Taiwo was signed on a free from OM, I remember thinking what the heck is going on at Milan.
Again, my bad. Forgot about that year. Doesn't change the gap in talent however other than Milan who still had Ibra and Silva... although not much more. Sorry, Robinho sucked. He was the "Menez" of Milan back then. Abate, Muntari, Boateng, etc. weren't exactly great either.

Re: 2016/17 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. IV
That just shows you don't remember it well at all.
Ibra had his best season in Milan, by head and shoulders. He was the league top-scorer with 28. That was the most dominant Ibra that Serie A saw, including his time at Juve and Inter too.
Nesta was outstanding, him and Thiago Silva were an excellent pair and that was the time when many were calling Silva the best CB in the world. Abate was good too, getting hyped up all the time. The starting left back wasn't Zambrotta, it was Antonini. Who was the weakest piece of that defense but then again Juve had De Ceglie...
Milan's attack was absolutely stacked. Ibra, Robinho, El Shaarawy, Pato, Cassano.
Of course this makes absolutely no sense. Allegri very emphatically benched a bunch of players and sold Pirlo. Nocerino and Urby were performing scoring 10 goals in the league each and they started more than the old guard. Boateng also had a very prolific year. He played more than Seedorf.
This was the last good season Milan had, before Ibra and Silva got sold, before the old guard retired, and before Allegri left.

Chelsea need to get ghoulam. Scratch that, Moreno is balls for Liverpool. They could benefit from a proper left back

City are set complete a £10m deal to bring Dynamo Zagreb teenager Ante Ćorić (19) to the club. [Mirror]
Remember him getting bullied and turning in a transfer request at Zagreb in Jan. He looks promising though.
