Who will advance to the quarter-finals?
Re: UCL Last 16: Manchester City vs AS Monaco
Meh majority of the attacking based teams will have a weak defense, were as most defensive teams will have a weak offense, there aren't many teams that have a balance of both. You'll have to usually sacrifice one for the other.

Lol no you don't. Not like this. There is a reason why you don't see 5-3 in the CL knockouts that often. Most teams are way more balanced than City and Monaco.

Re: UCL Last 16: Manchester City vs AS Monaco
Of course there are teams that are more balanced compared to the two, however my point is that if you look at BM, RM, Barca, or PSG (attacking orientated teams) their defenses are by far weakest part of their games, were as you can look at more defensive teams and see the offensive is one of their weakest part compared to the above.

Re: UCL Last 16: Manchester City vs AS Monaco
Masterclass performance? Not even a good performance from City. I appreciate the manic football that was shown, the reckless abandonment but City gave up 3 away goals to Monaco who did 2 worse by giving up 5. Nothing masterclass about it at all.
As for posters' takes on the match, most of us watch City regularly so we have an idea what to expect, also Pep. Pretty sure most of us don't really watch much of Monaco so it would be new waters for us, well, for me.

It's alright saying you just want your team to outscore the opposition be it 1-0 or 5-3. Yeah in a one off instance that's fine. How often can you rely on your team to get you 4-5 goals in a CL knockout tie?
Fun game. Sure.
Entertaining as hell, especially if you were there live.
But it was embarrassing. If you want consistent stupid scorelines you'd love non league football. Seen a fair few double digit losses back in the day watching my local team for banter at the park.

Also lol at Chemicalclown hyping up City by saying Monaco are much better than the PSG that just ruined Barca.
Three teams we've beaten at the Etihad in the last year so a legit comparison.
Like beating Barcelona at home is a faptastic feat nowadays
Good luck in the Europa "Dream Sixteen"

Bump.... Falcao back in training still a doubt to start for Monaco.
City everyone fit except for Jesus and Gundogan.

Time for another clown fiesta match. I feel the blood and thunder of the EPL would be too much for Monaco.

Is he seriously still playing Kolarov at CB lol?
I understand their CBs are *bleep* trash but this is ridiculous.

Re: UCL Last 16: Manchester City vs AS Monaco
He's playing his offensive lineup, 4-1-4-1/4-3-3. Actually would have thought he'd field Fernandinho and Toure to make it more tikinaccio.
Maybe he has finally figured it out
Still, there's no way City don't concede so it will be entertaining and maybe even close

Believe it or not Kolarov has better win percentage at CB then as a FB this season and City defense is better with him being paired with either Stones or Ota.

Re: UCL Last 16: Manchester City vs AS Monaco
Otamendi has been pretty shocking in buildup when I saw him this season. Does stuff like passing a simple pass instead to full back straight into out of bounds, a couple of times a game.
Maybe Pep knows there's no way this City team can keep the ball secure enough to be defensively sound. They need to outscore their opponents.
