In Serie A, a player of Ox's caliber wouldn't go higher than 12m
Well that's because Serie A is a poverty league

Why on earth would Sterling even think of moving from City to Arsenal right now? No disrespect, but City's near future looks much brighter and he plays enough minutes not to be worried. I know you said "apparently more open to it", but the whole idea doesn't seem to be realistic. I am just curious what's in his mind.

The only thing that I can think of is that he's a London boy and wouldn't mind coming back.
Also I suppose that if Alexis arrived at City, Sterling's current game time is going to go down and he'd be an instant star at Arsenal.
Otherwise yes, you would logically stay at City. Better pay, better squad, better manager, etc.

Warrior wrote:New coach might want to switch formation. El Sha is not worth keeping the 4-3-3 at all cost, with Salah maybe but he's gone now.
The squad they have + SCHCIK could make a good 4-3-1-2DZEKO-SCHICK
FLORENZI
STROOTMAN-DDR-NINJA
KOLAROV-FAZIO-MANOLAS-KARSDORP
ALISSON
Schick supporting Dzeko in a seconda punta role
And they have decent subs Pellegrini, Defrel, El Sha, Perotti, Gonalons
Robespierre wrote:Yeah I thought also that 4312 'd be the best setting for them,
but Nainggolan in place of Florenzi. If Ninja plays closer to attack he can be lethal.
Anyway if I know Di Francesco he never 'd do this.
He not just fundamentalist on tactic , he is also Zemaniano.
Wideness is crucial on his game, even against Inter we've noticed how much job did Defrel etc. I can't imagine him converting on rombo
EDF is attached at the hip to that 433, just like Enrique, Zeman and Garcia before him. He wouldn't even change it when we had 4 RBs out about to face a dangerous Inter team so I highly doubt he changes it for a kid we just forked out 40m for.
Schick will probably feature a fair amount on the right and probably centrally in select CL (and later EL) and Coppa matches.

we can say these signings are depth but Barkley, Ox etc are not going there to sit on the bench
Conte
we are pushing hard for Mahrez apparently, we do need a world class RW but I'm not convinced by him, we can chalk it up to not being bothered to play for Leicester last season but I don't want someone like that playing for us

Neither Drinkwater nor Barkley is benching Kante and Bakayoko will start most games. The only player that could possibly start often is Ox in place of Moses and that would mean he's performing better at RWB than Moses. These players are being bought for depth. I don't know how many times I have to say it on this forum but I'll say it again. Between January and now, we lost 10 first team squad and only signed 4 to replace them. At some point this summer we only had 14 senior players in the squad. Paper thin. We badly needed depth. It's clear the club decided to fill the depth with English players, even though they're average. Hopefully Conte can make them punch above their weight.

BREAKING NEWS: Arsenal reject £50m bid from Manchester City for Alexis Sanchez, according to Sky sources. #SSN

Arsenal have rebuffed all approaches from Man City for Sanchez. #AFC stance remains not for sale - unless huge money + player offered #MCFC

Imagine holding out for silly money for a player who has only 1 year left. Any smart club waits till his contract runs out.

They need another goalscorer in there, and considering Mbappe is joining PSG, Alexis is the only option left.
Not much of a fan personally, but City needs him.

Well doesn't depth suggest that they will get minutes? Especially now we have CL.
Mahrez / Sanchez gonna be an interesting one, hope we are in the mix for them both.

But Ox is already playing LWB and RWB at Arsenal, he'd take longer to adapt to CM at Liverpool than to play RWB at Chelsea.

And I doubt he's loving his situation, hence the move.
I could be wrong but I doubt he wants to spend the next decade tracking his man at wing back as opposed to showcasing the attacking talents that he's used to get this far.
