If they are to win the league it won't be the signings that make the difference it's the current players improving.
Signings some fullbacks and Bernado Silva was never going to make the difference.
As usual, your proclamations are half baked at best.
I would on the contrary say that Mendy will prove one crucial key player in any City success. Monster player, monster acquisition.
Stop trying to act as if you are the football master mind who sees everything in advance. You are not.

Mendy is fantastic but he's not going to turn them 3rd to 1st by himself, which is what i meant.
The real source of that improvement is Pep and the players of last season improving, which is what i said.

You said "signing full backs was never going to make the difference".
Mendy for *bleep* Clichy or Kolarov will make a HUGE difference.
So what you said..
is wrong.

3 goals and 1 assist for Aguero today. Put some respect on his name. Could easily end up topscorer this season.

Not a huge enough difference to make up the point difference from last season no it won't.
You guys were acting like they signed title winning difference makers, they didn't.
The difference makers are last summers signings getting better and Pep himself getting better.
Assuming they actually win it anyway, as good as the likes of Mendy are they are not difference makers on that level.
I'd argue Matic and Lukaku are bigger difference makers than any player City signed.

Compared to last season yes he does, your manager was complaining all summer long about poor finishing and Aguero was a chief culprit in that. If he performed this season like he did last year you will not win anything.
Luckily he's been much more like his old self this season.

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion Part 2
City being clinical is the difference. They created the most chances last season they just failed to finish them off. It's still early but if their goalscoring form continues, it seems like Pep may have solved that problem. I think he may have solved it late last season, but didn't have the fullback talent to apply it at the highest level.
The difference?
He's essentially playing 3 strikers. The front 3 are playing very centrally, with the CM's playing deeper and the fullbacks playing wider.
Last season the wingers were playing wider, with the CM's playing higher and the fullbacks playing narrower. Whenever City arrived in the box it was Aguero, KDB, and Silva standing there with Sane and Sterling providing the crosses.
Now it's Aguero, Jesus, Sane/Sterling standing in the box receiving crosses from the likes of Mendy, Walker, Silva, and KDB.
He was playing the narrow 4-3-3 in the last few PL games of the season and they were very good, but it was Navas and Fernandinho playing wide.
With the additions of Mendy and Walker as well as a full preseason used to retrain someone like De Bruyne to play deeper and run more, it seems like it's been working out so far.
It's still early though, the real test is on September 30 vs Chelsea. That performance will show whether Pep has found the solution to City's goalscoring problems.
