60m for Bailly + Lindelof. Bailly's already a top CB in the league/world. As shite as Lindelof has been in his couple of appearances, still not as bad as Bonucci
Bonucci literally gets depressed playing for you mate.

Absolute bargain compared to the "Swedish Beckenbauer".
Pep
Stones cost double what Lindelof did. Stones has literally cost you 5X more games than Lindelof has even played for us you clown. But yeah he does look like he's in the same tier as pretty much every CB you've signed in the last half decade, i:e utterly shite.

insaenly rich mans Chris Samba would be apt IMO. He's still young and on his way to being a top 3/5 CB in the world .
That said we've had to suffer through Rugani and Romagnoli are going to be the best CB Italy have produced in years and future GOAT for like 2-3 years now from Serie A fans, and they continue to prove not a damn thing. Ceiling of Gamberini at best. So allow the Bailly hype ffs. Already proven more than other hyped CB.

Rugani would already be the best CB at United, not like its saying much looking at his competition

It's actually kinda crazy that I'm excited for Marcus f'n Rojo to return from injury soon. I know he was playing way above his level last season but he was a beast at CB. Rojo - Bailly is the best partnership in the league

I'm not getting into a pissing contest or bantering when I say this. He would be a 6th choice CB for us. I guarantee that. He is a nobody. Call me when he has a notable performance and not against the Chievo's or Saussolo's of the world.

Firenze pls. None of your CB's would get into Juve. The only reason United don't concede many goals is because you park the bus every game.
Jones + random underperforming scrub is not a very intimidating partnership.

You have Howedes and Benatia mate and a Barzagli closer to 50 than he is 20. Bailly, Jones, Smalling, Rojo, take your pick, any would be nailed on starters for you. Believing anything else is nonsense. Obviously Chiellini would start for us but none of the others would.

Didn't you pay 40M for Lindelof?
That's more than we paid for Chiellini, Barzagli, Benatia, Rugani and Howedes, should we purchase him, combined

Unsworth to Everton is stupid choice anyway . If even Koeman ( not great coach , ok , but expert ) had difficulties with a roster not built properly (by him), I haven't idea why a manager with no experience should do better it.
Recently there is the tendency to give the job to rookies in EPL, it's a weird choice even because it's never successful.
Swansea is going so from three years I think , why not taking a decent coach lol
I still remember when Newcastle risked to relegate incredibly with that scrub coach from Canada or US I don't remember .. he came after Pardew for temporary assignment ... convinced to get saved but he made as Benevento in A '17-'18 and Magpies were close to epic fail.
Expect decent coaches with big EPL money tbh

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion Part 3
When PL clubs sack a foreign coach the response is almost always to put the good local lad who knows the club inside-out in charge. Unsworth has been at Everton for years coaching their young players and represents everything Koeman didn't, so it's a good PR move to "give him a go".
Koeman was sacked partly because he didn't embrace Everton's history and culture. For a lot clubs here that's a huge thing. It's why Bob Bradley was never accepted at Swansea (he was American and used weird terms for things) or why Marco Silva was attacked by Merson/Thompson (foreigner coming in and taking the job from good English lads, "doesn't get English football").
Leicester appointed Claude Puel and Richard "it was just banter" Keys responded with "RIP British coaching" ffs. Reaction was much different when Shakespeare got the job.

think it was £25m, maybe bonuses were included to bring that up. That is pretty standard price for a young CB in today's market, at least for PL teams.

I guess its not an unexpected response since there are so few English coaches in top flight compared to other leagues that have a large majority of local coaches. Imo the situation will never change until they improve the training of coaches locally to compete with the best schools out there, giving random people chances won't pay off long term.

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion Part 3
Fair enough , that's matter of different cultures. So it seems strange to me .
In Serie A you always sign a "real" manager after a sack , unless just few matches miss and so it'd be useless to do it. But it is not case of Everton..

What happened to Newcastle's takeover ?
Happy to see them become an oil club tbh. Much rather them than become a Yuan club as you can see Milan are realising that their money is fake just like their products
Will be exciting to see Mole making threads on how Newcastle f*cked FFP sportsczy style

Firenze praying from Scrubojos recovery while simultaneously questioning Stones quality. Stones has easily been the best CB in the league this season.

Still in discussions, it's an ongoing thing i don't expect it to be sorted out any time soon. These things take time as i'm sure Milan fans will no doubt tell you lol.
Although the people in question seem to be Middle Eastern rather than Chinese.

Probably get sorted by this summer assuming Ashley has actual interest in selling the club. Difference from the Milan deal was that you don't have a consortium of Chinese capital flight financed by shadow banking buying your club.

Yeah i don't expect to take as long as Milan, still expect it to be a while though.
Can't remember a takeover happening over night before.

Pretty sure Bailey would be back in Spain before he is anywhere near the top defender you envisioned for him. Which is another thing, EPL clubs need to stop purchasing defenders from Spanish clubs particularly from Sevilla, Valencia, Villareal and Real Sociedad. They hardly ever really represent value for money.
