He's probably rated imo. Not good enough to start. Can be a decent scoring option from the bench for some teams. But after watching him in the playoffs and how he totally collapsed I don't know if he can ever be contributing player on a winning team.

This is so true lol.

Analytics is not bad though. It’s better than not using it, but it shouldn’t be a substitute for the eye test.

A lot of writers have the problem that they only watch good teams, which is wrong to do when it’s your job. You should balance it out, unless you’re strictly a beat writer.

Just heard Bill Simmon say DeRozan was top 10-13 player in his podcast. Any analytics could’ve helped such a ridiculous opinion.

But it's hilarious some of these writers think Jared Dudley can contribute to a contender because he shot 39% from 3!

Shooting is so overrated at this point imo. Some fans and pundits seem to think if you’re able to shoot and that’s your only skill you’re fit to play minutes on a contender.

It's overrated for more reasons than that too imo.

Shooting percentages straight up ignore volume and and they straight up ignore when they go in and whether it mattered or not.

The whole thing is insanely misleading imo.
