I think part of it is not being afraid with breaking his devil breakers tbh, i was really hesitant before to not break them and it seems like their really designed to be used like that.

Also upgrading more skills has helped.

Which ranged weapons do you guys use the most? I picked up a certain weapon with Dante in a ruined building that I like a lot, but other than that, I hardly ever use the guns/shotguns etc.

I've been using Dante's knuckle weapons a lot. They just feel great in this game. I didn't use them that much in the game that they were introduced in (don't remember if it was 3 or 4) because there were so many other, cool weapons to try out in those games that were centered primarily around him.

Apparently, the PS4 version is the only version of this game that was censored. I don't know what was taken out, so it doesn't bother me much, but it explains why the user score is so much lower on PS4 than on Xbox and PC.

There are some interesting- looking games in there. Somehow, I doubt half of them will actually be released this year, though.

Whats with this new trend? Witcher, GTA, Dragon Age and Mass Effect had more extreme forms of nudity, never got censored.

Dragon Age and Mass Effect had transgender and gay people in it, which seemed to appease the people who normally complain about these things publically, or through legal action. Witcher somehow flew under the radar for a really long time, but were criticizied for the nudity ahead of Witcher 3's launch. I recall that they promised the sex scenes would be in good taste. They still received some flak for portraying women as damsels in distress, among other things. I don't know how Rockstar keep getting away with it Razz

These calls for censorship are relatively recent, from what I can tell. People didn't seem to care as much, a decade or so back in time. Probably less than that.

You can bet your ass Cyberpunk's gonna have nudity. Interested to see if they are gonna go ahead and censor it. Apparently only Japanese games released in the West are being censored and it started after Sony moved HQ from Tokyo to California, officially making them an "American" company.

I wouldn't call Lady, Trish and Nico from the DMC series damsels in distress either, but I suppose two of them kind of are in DMC5, and you betcha someone complained about it.

Lady and Trish return, and watching these two women, who have been typically portrayed as just as capable and powerful as the men of these games, relegated to damsels in distress with zero agency of their own or chances to shine is more than disappointing, it feels disrespectful. This is especially apparent when, around the midpoint of the game, DMC5 sexualizes both characters in consensually problematic ways.

While she’s not treated the same degrading way, newcomer Nico doesn’t fair much better. Somehow, Nero’s craftswoman partner is one of the primary perpetrators of some of DMC5’s worst tendencies. This includes the objectification of Lady in one instance, and near the end, undermines an entire thesis of Nero’s character to double down on some old fashion toxic masculinity.

I also recall at least one journalist criticize the Witcher 3 for it's lack of gay and transgender people. It must be hard to appease everyone, these days Razz

Tbh i have personally not seen any relevant reviewers say that. It might be one or two odd balls.

It's a game build on a fantasy land. And even then i am sure there were people of every colour and race in the game.

Doesn't matter really, just saying i expect some really trashfire takes when Cyberpunk is released.

Well, unfortunately it's relevant to the companies that receive the criticism, because sometimes they end up in lawsuits. Such complainers have even pushed for certain games to have a higher PG requirement. The criticism doesn't just impact PR, and that's what really bothers me about it. As much as I thought the gay and cross-sexual options in Dragon Age felt out of place, I kind of get why developers would add something like that, when not including it means potentially inviting a lot of obnoxious, but influential people like, Anita Sarkeesian - who makes a living off of complaining about them.

The introduction of Dante's fourth weapon cracked me up. Considering it holds relevance to a certain real world occurence, the timing of it's inclusion makes it mildly inappropriate Laughing

I did. Good, short, game. There's nothing special about it purely from gameplay, but the overall package with the main character and her mental traumas and how they are represented both through audio and visually made it a very unique experience. The audio design is especially good. It did not blow me away though, I've been impressed by shorter, lower budget indie games.

I personally disliked it so much I asked for a refund on Steam. It really isn't a game, another walking simulator.

Thing is I didn't like Life is Strange for the same reason. It was more of an audible/animated comic book than a video game to me.

Think I ranted about that game here. Everybody's Gone To The Rapture, Dear Esther, Gone Home are terrible "games" Those are what I define as walking simulators.

Life Is Strange, What Remains Of Edith Finch, The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter, Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons, Journey are examples of some great games which are derided as walking simulators.
