Our club is great. Great recent memories... we just fell off a cliff. THAT SAID, we're only 5 points behind in La Liga and we won our CL group.

It's not like anyone else out there is killing it, unlike last year.

If we make a couple of key purchases over the winter, we could win the treble looooool.

Well sports, we had Courtois, Isco, Asensio, Benz, Bale, Marcelo, Kroos and Carvajal all feature.

We haven't once looked like we were going to score this match regardless of who was on the field.

The problem is not just the kids. And honestly the only player who shouldn't be completely ashamed is Vinicius the youngest player on the pitch.

As has been the case for the last 10 years. We get ripped apart on the left because Marcelo is a terrible defender. As if that wasn't enough we now have Odri on the other side who is as terrible but with a better workrate

Vinicius and Llorente the only good points of this game. Everyone else were terrible. And if anyone wonders why Lucas start, yep look no further than this game. Asensio isn't even half as good as Lucas

I'm not talking about our "recent memories", sports. Those are in the past. Even the squad is not the same anymore. Everything has changed because of Florentino's poor planning.

What matters is the now, and the now looks bleak, dark and fruitless.

And yes, there are no teams crushing it, but we are the worst of the bunch. And you would be mistaken if you thought Florentino would make any "key" signings in the winter.

Hell will freeze over before that cheapskate brings a world beater to the Bernabeu. I would get used to us signing Brazilian teenagers and promoting Castilla kids if I were. And i woudn't hold my breath for any WC signing any time soon.

Regarding our spending, Perez needs to give some clear facts about the funding of the stadium and whether we will turn into another Arsenal FC in terms of purchases. I for one am kinda hoping we get raped from here to summer so that it adds incentives for some action re. ins and outs of players.

MTO, you keep wondering about money? The team has plenty, 300M already set aside. The stadium doesn’t enter into this budget. There is a line of credit established for the stadium, but they are planning on stadium sponsorship to pay for it. In case you don’t recall they hired the Canadian who put together the stadium (arena) sponsorship deal in Toronto for 800M CAD, to put together a similar deal for new stadium.

As I said money isn’t the issue.

Well it does seem like the lack of spending has been because of the stadium. Don't get me wrong, if the figures are correct regarding expected income from the renovations, I am all for it. I just wish the club was a bit more transparent about how it would impact spending in the short term.

So just a stressful game, sigh. I had an exam so I missed this. Thank God I didn't get to see this cancer.

Lol

I don't think ordriziola is Madrid quality. He has the energy, he tries. But the finish product isnt there. He looks put of place. Every cross is a disappointing, his decision making is so slow.

Oh and Regulion over Marcelo. 100%

number 1, this game meant nothing and even if we won by ten, despite how much media outlets might want to mask the glaring issues with the squad , it would have meant nothing either way.

and as a result, i thought the quote from carvajal (about the homegrown players) was  unbecoming. like many athletes i'm sure he'll have an excuse about how the comments where taken out of context and he didn't mean it. even if his point is true, the fans are the ones who can say that not a player, it does nothing to help the confidence and growth of youngsters. especially as the senior players haven't been putting butts in seats either

This is why hakimi should've been given time. He is more defensively solid and has excellent fundamentals. I recall it was nick saying his body was "built for football" and i totally agree; he is an excellent athlete as well.

Odri has been decent overall. Didn't have the best game yesterday, but neither did anyone else.

Solari walked out of the presser when asked about Kelord. Isco refused the captains armband despite being the most senior player once Marcelo left the pitch

Good God this season is slowly turning out to be a disaster  can ZZ just make a quick stop on his way to Utd to get these lots heads straight

Z can't do anything with this squad. He has no goalscorer and some of the players he relied upon are no longer here. There's so much a man can do, and there's a reason he left.

He didn't want to deal with this BS. No self-respecting man would.

https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2018/12/12/5c117e57468aeb2a1c8b461a.html

Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal has acknowledged that his side played poorly as they lost 3-0 against CSKA Moscow at the Santiago Bernabeu. When asked about the young players, Carvajal stressed that the homegrown players may not be as prepared as once thought.

"Three weeks ago there was talk that the homegrown players could play," the defender told Movistar+."But it turns out that they might not worthy of the first team," he said.

The 26-year-old defended Isco after he received whistles from the stands."I have not seen if he was whistled by the fans or not, but the only thing I can say about Isco is that he has been here for many years and he is a brave player," he added. "When things are not going well, he asks for the ball and tries to change the game rather than disappear."

The Spaniard then went on to discuss how the defeat will certainly have an impact on the team. "This was an inconsequential match for those who want to see it like that. It's an official match, it was not a good match. The first part we had enough opportunities but we had defensive errors and CSKA Moscow condemned us" he said. "We're frustrated by the defeat at home but we finished first in the group and that was the objective." The Real Madrid defender did not want to delve into the role of substitutes. "These are evaluations that the coach has to do, we are all fit to be here but it is difficult for Solari," he concluded.
