People stopped watching films?
Anyone on Extraction? looks like a solid popcorn flick.

It's terrible.
Just watch the 15 minute "one-take" action scene and skip the rest.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Actually seen quite a bit since lockdown.
Jojo Rabbit - Lovely film with hilarious moments. The German shepherds joke alone makes the film worth it. At first I thought it was wild that ScarJo got nominated for this but then I saw that scene where she acted as her husband...The female lead was great too. Taika used the film to expose how ridiculous and vile the whole Nazi ideology was.
1917 - Really not as bad as Freeza said it was. Sure, plot is minimalistic and the film is carried visually, but its a great viewing experience. It does have some ridiculous off putting action movie scenes which did not sit well with me. I'm glad Parasite won the Oscar over this. Watch it in 4K.
Uncut Gems- The film is a fucking cocaine binge. Kevin Garnett is the highlight of the film Sandler nailed the role and its worth the watch if you can keep up with the pacing. Has incredible suspense @MT
Two Popes - Carried by the performances and chemistry of Hopkins and Pryce. The subject matter is not that interesting. Solid film overall.
Hereditary - Wow, this is one of the best horror films I've seen. Subverts expectations, has terrifying scenes, and a sense of dread throughout the whole film. Toni Colette should have been nominated for an Oscar for this.
Midsommar - Was disappointed by this. I feel a movie solely about the deteriorating relationship with that dickhead boyfriend would have been better. I can see what Aster did with that story connecting to the cultists. The foreshadowing like Hereditary was incredible.

Watching too many TV series fucks with your head, then a 2h movie feels like the story was wrapped up too quick, at least for me
Anyhow, seen The King on netflix, decent movie, Timothee Chalamet's performance is so good, immensely talented guy, worth the watch just for him

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Have you watched the David Lynch film, Wind River, Hans? A colleague of mine told me it was really good. I’m going to check it out this weekend.
I started watching Twin Peaks season 3 (return) yesterday. I’m excited to watch the rest of it, but the David Lynch weirdness is a bit too much at times, man. I don’t mind it in small doses at a time, I even think it adds to the quality of his work sometimes. It’s that trademark, atmosphere of mystery that makes his movies great, but it’s too much when it feels like the show is interrupted by a short film made by some artsy fartsy, mentally deranged, indie film maker. If I want to look at talking trees with a random brain on one of it’s branches, I’ll watch that instead

Ah, I must’ve mistaken my colleague. We were discussing David Lynch films, and suddenly he went «hey! You should watch Wind River. It’s a really good movie». I assumed we were still talking about David Lynch. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I’ll finish going through David Lynch’s stuff before I move on to something else.
What’s your opinion on Wind River anyway, Freeza? Assuming you’ve watched it.

Still a good movie though. Worth a watch. Pretty gruesome thriller.

You answered my question before I could edit the post. Guess I’ll add it to my «to watch» list.

Think we wrote about it on here previously. I won't say too much before you've seen it, because I don't want to influence or potentially spoil it.
It's Taylor Sheridan movie. He's pretty much the king of these brutal, humourless thrillers at this point. He's got three great ones. Wind River and Hell or High Water (both written and directed) and then he's also written Sicario (one of my favourites from last decade). Sicario 2 is terrible though.
You should def watch all three if you haven't.

There's one. It's not really great, but definitely not average and if you're looking to kill time, you should give it a try.
It's an action movie called Extraction starring Chris Hemsworth.

The Half of It (Netflix) – Sweet and different friend/romcom.
The Invisible Man – Incredible horror-thriller. And one of the instances where Elisabeth Moss doesn't annoy me, but her annoying attributes actually enhances the experience of the movie.
Bad Boys 4 Life – If you love that franchise it's a must. It might be the best movie of the three. Also has one of the top 3 cameo's of all time.
Birds of Prey – Good and enjoyable comic book movie. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is absolutely worth the watch in this, but it's sad she's not in it more. Because she kills it. Didn't perform box office-wise, but I hope to god we get to see more of her in this role.
The Hunt – Hillbilly Battle Royale basically. It has some muddled politics that are hard to decipher, but the conventions of a battle royale movie are some of my favourites and the kills and action are really good.
The Way Back – Ben Affleck's therapy movie basically. It's a very meta movie about abuse and taking accountability for your actions. And then he's also a basketball coach in it. Really like the basketball stuff, but it's not really a traditional sports/basketball movie.
