sounds like the date is fixed, not "end of season" but specifically June 10th

ESPN pundits aren't lawyers. He can invoke the current circumstances and the intent of the June 10 date. Since Barca weren't eliminated until about 10 days ago, he waited until the end of the season.

I doubt Messi has scrub lawyers, there should be plenty to discuss. Also, if Barca really goes to court/law against Messi to that degree it will be an unbelievably shameful way to treat their biggest legend ever.

Imagine the plot twist if Messi were to transfer to Stoke City. Should be the plot for FIFAs next «The Journey».

So are local Barca fans not going to do anything about this? I mean if not the fans surely the board will be given a vote of no confidence. When Kaka was going to join City in 2010 fans were protesting out on the streets and in front of his house.

Imagine letting your board drive out one of the greatest players ever.

While its easy to connect the dots and assume that he might be going to Inter, on a sporting level, it's a really bad move unless Messi at this stage of his career is content with breaking Juve's breaking dominance than having another crack at the CL. Inter are at the start of their project and a move like this atleast in the short term would jeopardize their ability to reinforce other areas of the pitch. They are nowhere close to being a CL contender either.

Man City makes way too much sense at this point. He'll be the final piece in their jigsaw. Finally Cascia can watch City beat Shakhtar and Lyon with 'killer' Messi and rave about Pep.
It's really not that hard to imagine Messi settling down on Manchester. City unlike the red side, have a decent history of South American players flourishing on the pitch, the squad is filled with latin American players so atleast initially language won't be a problem at all.
I'm sure Messi would be happy to eat fish and chips and baked beans all the time if someone at this stage in his career paid him €60M a season while also ensuring he's playing at the highest level.

Messi and Mbappe would be the better dynamic on the pitch imo. Neymar is a 10 these days. You can't play with two 10s. Messi and Neymar only won the treble when Neymar was more of a runner. The moment he started wanting more responsibility they never won anything.

Messi and Mbappe would probably become the best dynamic in football. Unless of course, Neymar resorts back to his old role, then he'll take the cake for that one.

Messi and CR7 on the same team would break the time/space continuum, but dear God, make it happen!

Loool surag I'm sure everyone here already knows if Messi joins City, Pep will not get any credit. Even though Messi only won one CL after Pep and that was with the greatest frontline ever. It is what it is though.

Messi would be that missing piece in the City puzzle. City and PSG are the best teams for him. I don't understand where these Inter links come from. Even when Inter was finishing 10th in the table a few years ago you'd hear about how they want him LOL.

If they can sign him for free then why move Mbappe?

In any case Messi doesn’t have time to fight Barca in court over his clause that will take too much time and he doesn’t have time. This is all gonna be negotiated
