And the departure of Messi is crucial in order to start the new project. Everything revolves around him and it has to stop. I just wish he gets a proper farewell.

I heard Fred Hermel on RMC yesterday saying that Messi has plans to join Inter Miami when his contract ends. I wonder if that’s really in play. We could see his last year at Barca before he moves on. If all his friends like Pique, Suarez, Busquets are being pushed out, i doubt he will stick around yet again for another rebuild.

I think Messi will stay

I believe at Man City there's more players who speak Spanish than English, including the coach. I don't think that'd be a problem. Also Aguero is Messi's best buddy since forever so there's also that.

I think a Man City move is on the cards here.

Messi would dominate at City, and basically at any other team.

The conditions at City would be better for him than at current Barca anyway.

To be fair Miami is one of the few cities in the US where you don’t need to speak English lol

I agree with Thimmy though, at this point I don’t imagine Messi being a mercenary and going to another European club

Agree with Thimmy that I just don't see Messi moving to England. The language, the climate, the culture, I just don't see him settling there. Also, it wouldn't be easy for him footballing wise and the amount of time he likes to spend walking about on the pitch would be a problem. If he's leaving Barca, I think he's looking to downgrade the challenge, not up it.

Realistically Messi has a 600m release clause. The only way he gets sold is if they negotiate for him. Messi has some leverage in that this is the last year of his contract, so if Barca wants to sell they need to do it now, or lose him for free.

Now, does Barca want to sell? No, it would be career suicide for Bart. So under what conditions could he sell and save face? Only for a truly ridiculous amount of money.

And would Messi leave for just about any club? No, presumably if he's leaving it's because he thinks he has a better chance to win trophies elsewhere.

So which clubs could swing that and give Messi a sporting project worth considering? Only City, PSG and United (maybe).

Of these I'd say City are the favorites as Messi has people there (Pep, Kun) and City need a KILLER

But that's assuming Messi even wants to leave, which we don't know.

And also, which club would willingly pay a ridiculous amount for Messi knowing they could get him for free next year (even if he will be old AF at this point the main thing Messi brings is marketing appeal)

Maybe next season won't be pretty but they are still one of the richest clubs in the world so yeah.. not like they should need Messi to compete.
