not surprised at all. Atletico were nothing special in the last season also. It was special agent Adrian who gifted them goals otherwise we were winning the game comfortably. So glad they are going out.
And Tuchel I just hope he had more personality to bring that mental toughness in his teams. Otherwise tactically he is good.

Chelsea have been good so far. Tuchel has got them just about right against Atletico who are being completely suffocated atm.

Atletico haven't looked like a strong team whenever I've watched them this season. Then again, neither have Real Madrid or Barcelona, unless you count against the league teams that are perfectly willing to bend over for them.

yep. Every time I watch them I find myself completely baffled as to how on freaking earth this dreadful team is topping La Liga. Then again, everybody sucks so that explains it.

Honestly didn't expect to beat them when we got the draw, but Atleti played terribly.

Atleti tried to put pressure, but Simeone is so adverse to offensive football he doesnt seem to know what to do. His entire philsophy of course has shaped the construction of the squad, they dont have defenders to play out from their back and if not for Felix, Llorente and Carrasco they would struggle to score at all.

If Chelsea build with 3 defenders and 2 holding mids as they did, pressing in a straight up 442 will always leave Chelsea with the spare man and they used it perfectly to escape Atleti's feeble attempts.

As stated, Joao Felix is the only thing interesting about this team and the only reason they are 1st is because Madrid and Barca have allowed them to be there with their own poor periods during the season. If Sevilla had more squad depth, even they would be up there with Atleti.

Tuchel has done a good job so far, hard to say otherwise. They are stronger defensively, but they also are pretty good on the ball. The attacking third is not quite working as well but we will see how all this fares against some of the better sides.
