I think that album is very good, I'd say his 3rd best album.

After the disappointment with "Nastradamus" and the conflict with Jay, he really needed to deliver and he did so.

Stillmatic underrated? I don't think so, it's rated quite highly and I like it a lot.

Yh i was mainly just picking a couple of songs from Reasonable Doubt, Blueprint, The Black Album and American Gangster.

And i find the Nas and Jay-Z debate extremely debateable i personally it's a matter of what you prefer i often flip-flop between the two....

Both are in my all time top 10 though.

And Blueprint 2 was just alright but I love this song(even though he disses Nas), especially the beat.

The big picture album from BIG L,is one of the best albums i've ever listened.Illmatic is the one which i rate higher, Nas is so classy.Black on both sides from Mos Def is an epic album too.Jay Z has done so much things for rap I think that he is in the top 10 of all time, all around MC.The battle with Nas as Mole said is debatable, in my opinion NAS has won it(question of taste)..

Even though it wasn't on the album, I think the original "Dead Presidents" is the better. I remember the hype going around when a third version got leaked.

Definitely his best two albums. They were different styles, but he made them both work.

I feel like his worst was "Vol. 3", both he and Nas dropped subpar efforts that year. 2000 came the group / collaboration albums, then the clash in '01. They really mirrored each other throughout the rivalry.

I've come to know you as a genuine Big L fan. The guy was ridiculously talented, I don't think any other artist has made so many killer punchlines, one of the most humorous to ever do it (along with Cam).

Yeah, I think I read you saying that before, and you might be right. I heard the first version(I wanna say it came out way after RD) after I heard DP II, so I think that's why I prefer DP II.

Yeah to me Vol.3 and Kingdom Come are both trash.

Roc La Familia is pretty great imo, not classic but a good album although I know some feel otherwise.

Yeah, I remember posting similar in the old forum. It feels a little strange with all of this Jigga talk, since I've at times felt like I was defending Jay from you and THC lol.

I think the album had a lot of positives (especially the impact of Freeway and Beans), but I can't say it had any defining tracks. The best I think was "Where Have You Been", it was so personal.

Nice track from Bleek too, one of his best (along with "My Mind Right" from that same year).

Chino XL and Big L are definitely 2 of the best (if not top 2) for punchlines. Some might throw names like Banks and Canibus, but I wouldn't put them that high up.

We had a punchline thread before, perhaps we should bring it back?

On Jay, I'm all for a variety of artists but I guess his presence in the thread sparked the most debate.
