Portugal actually dominated possession in the first half. I guess Belgium are too afraid of having their slow centre backs too high up the pitch. There's really nothing happening, until that magnificent outward spinning screamer by Thorgan Hazard. Then, Belgium were on the ascendancy and Palhinha felt he had to do that dangerous tackle

Belgium are playing a smart game. They're defending in a back five to smother Portugal's attacks and using Lukaku, Hazard and De Bruyne who are all fantastic players on the counter.

They're a versatile team. They can play keep-ball and dominate weaker teams, but also defend deep and counter against stronger sides.

Portugal on the other hand struggle to change gears. The support from midfield is just really lacking. Feels like Sanches is the only who can go forward.

Palhinha is a no show. Moutinho and Sanchez are doing their job. I don't know whether Portugal have someone better on the bench. They can't capitalise on their 3 vs 2 midfield advantage because Palhinha isn't doing his part.

De Bruyne is replaced by Mertens. That tackle by Palhinha was just nasty

Joao Felix and Bruno Fernandes replaces Bernardo Silva and Joao Moutinho.
