the world isn't stopping though is it hmm the Queen is quite big in the UK and commonwealth so cancelling certain engagement is the right thing to do out of respect. Uefa games will still go ahead as planned

K I believe there should be respect and tribute regarding her death but postponing football as a result is so unnecessary it has me wilt.

Of course the absolute suck that is Charles and William won't do a thing about it either.

I get she passed away but that rule is like some all encompassing narcissism. Fuck off.

Tbh this decision wasn't to do with the RF or the government as they adviced the different organisations to make the decision themselves. PL themselves decided to call off the weekend's games out of respect

No

If they postpone the CL and then the next weekend game again, I am joining the Napoli bandwagon

What is this bullshit? It's once again clear that we dropped so low that some people take whatever shit is thrown into their faces without questioning the rationale or the lack of it. It is quite known that almost nobody besides the family actually knew the queen, her personality, her knowledge, her level intelligence etc. She did not have a political agenda, an economical agenda...she is one of the most popular persons in the last century, being popular for doing absolutely nothing. She did not start wars, she did not end wars, she didn't change the face of a domain or anything like this. And she didn't have to. It's not a problem at all. So, I am not saying she wasn't a nice person, or that she was not loved by the people. But to go that far as in to cancel things because of her death, it's like we're going back 600 years in time.

On some level, the masses act like after the Charlie Hebdo attacks. Everyone suddenly pays respect to the queen and thinks she was of some incredible importance one way or the other and I can understand this when it comes to the UK citizens (not enough to postpone football games though), but I mean this is happening everywhere on the globe...and the worldwide hypocrisy is blatant.

It's the players who will have to pay for it. The match schedule was already packed with the WC running parallel with club football this year.

You didn’t understand anything. Has nothing to do with complaining that there are no other options of what to do in a weekend.

most people are home doing nothing on Sundays while Saturdays people are more likely to do something and not be at home. Just a guess though

i don't think the club or the police would be that careless about the situation considering the recent Greenwood and Mendy cases... so because of this, i believe the allegations were deemed inconclusive/faulty

Late reply, but this makes the most sense to me as well. I haven't looked deeply into the claims, and I don't have any opinion about whether or not the allegations are true, but the evidence provided by his ex girlfriend seemed quite condescending and authoritative rather than something you'd expect to be presented by someone who's been victim of rape or abuse. That doesn't mean that she's not telling the truth, but I imagine she could've done herself a world of favor by being a bit more humble and objective about it.

people are so quick to jump on their SJW horse and "the woman is always right" nonsense... so many men have been the victim of women's lies and manipulation as well. Let the law and courts do its job because that's what it's there for

The only reason Partey is not in jail is because of legal technicalities.

Also a victim of sexual assault is not obliged to have a humble tone.
