Anyone else feel Rajkovic might not be loaned or sold this season? He's been playing a lot during pre season and it looks like we're trying to get him a work permit.
This would mean we have 5 CB's for 2 spots.

This to me means one of two things, either Alex is on the way out and Rajkovic will be his replacement or Ivanovic will perminantly move to Rb and Rajkovic will make up the 4 CB's.

Either way, if he gets the work permit we won't have to worry about our defence when it comes to the transfer market.

I think he'll be a good back up and starter for Cup Games

Alex should stick around and teach his Free Kick technique to others I'll seriously miss that if he goes

My point is, he will either not be needed or we're selling one of our CB's.

Does he really have enough quality to be playing for us? Pre season can't be used to determine that.

While preseason means nothing it's a chance for the youngsters to prove themselves, plus having a new manager he would not know how Rajkovic plays and preseason would be when he asses him.

While it isn't as good as playing them in the EPL it is a million times better than watching him play during training sessions or playing for a different team in a different league.

Rajkovic seems very decent to me heard he can play LB and RB as well??

True but I'm not entirely convinced that he's good enough. Would love it though if a youngster replaced Alex if he left.

I am always for taking a verstile player, Ade, if he was I'd love it.

If he did replace Alex it would be a real turning point for us. Finally using our youngsters instead of spending money.

By the sounds of what he has to do to get a work permit it will be unlikely that Alex will be sold and He'd be the replacement as the hearing to get one could be month's away and he miggt be denied.

Our defence is sorted for about the next 20 years lol.

Rajkovic, Chalobah, Kalas, Bruma

All except the RB spot, man we need to sort that out over the coming seasons.

Agreed. Bosingwa has been consistently awful ever since his injury problems and Paulo is too old to be starting.

If only we could combine Bosingwa's athleticism, pace and skills with Paulo's defensive ability and delivery from out wide into one player!

But if we sign a young talented RB, will he block Billy Clifford?

I know he can play as a holding midfielder but we'll have Romeu for that....

Ivanovic, Luiz, and Rajkavic have all played LB or RB

I wouldn't judge him by the pre season games. But IMO Alex might force a move out if he is not given playing time this season...

if Luiz starts and improves I would allow Alex to leave.

Wouldn't buy, I probably promote Rajkovic as he is older but if Kalas plays well I would choose him.

Oh wait Raj won't be able to play for us next season...and I wouldn't want to promote Kalas just now. I just hope Alex waits until next season to leave. We can recall Bruma then.

If Rajk gets a permit then Alex could leave.

TBH if it was upto me I would send Kalas out on loan for a Championship club this season.. he has enough talent to start for one of their teams. We dont need to buy anyone at the defence for quite some time..

Exactly. I'm even against getting a RB....what will happen to Billy then? Even Kalas can play RB.

We have a lot (too many) defenders coming up and we have to use them instead of buying.

Yes, I can't wait to see how our youth are going to play, Kalas, Bruma, Rajkovic and Chalobah all trying to get 2 CB spots. PVA vs Bertrand for LB. Lucas vs Kakuta for AM spot, Delac vs Courtois for GK, exciting times ahead we have.

Lets have a vote. Out of Bruma, Kalas, Chalobah, and Rajkovic, who do you think/want to make it to the CB spots in the future? Please also give reasons. One can immediately replace Terry in the next season or two and one can replace Luiz because lets just assume that in 4-5 years he will leave.

I think I would have Chalobah and Bruma. Bruma is a direct replacement for Terry and 16 year old Chalobah would definitely be wc in the future and he can easily take his time to partner Bruma. Also because they both are our products (Kalas is not)!! The reason why I didn't say Rajkovic was because I don't think he is good enough, and not Kalas because maybe he can fit RB?

Obviously it's kind of stupid to assume that they will end up partnering each other but just for fun.
