Why would you need another one though? You have more important positions to improve on.

can't see it tbh.

GK: Reina, Doni
Fullbacks: Johnson, Enrique, Kelly, Aurelio, Flanagan, Robinson
CBs: Carragher, Agger, Skrtel, Coates
Mid: Lucas, Adam, Henderson, Gerrard, Meireles, Spearing
Forwards and Wide areas: Suarez, Kuyt, Carroll,Maxi, Downing,

if Downing or Suarez get injured, we'll struggle. need a player who can back up to both. that's the only missing piece in the squad IMO

Can't see us signing Zarate, or any player that high profile. If, and that's a big if, we sign another attacker to replace N'gog I think it'll be another young, cheap, relatively unknown player from France (or Bellamy).

From what (admittedly little) I know of Zarate, he would possibly throw a fit if he came in and were used as a squad player and seems the type to disrupt a squad's solidarity. Not the type of player that Kenny would like to have.

Hindsight being 20/20....how awesome would Liverpool be if they had used the 40mil or whatever it was to sign Falcao instead of Carroll?

City wont sell him and we wont be interested in a loan deal.Cant see it happening tbh.

We have agreed a deal for Ngog so i would expect a striker to be signed more than winger.

Well it seems Chelsea have dropped their interest after we told them to f*ck off

Liverpool do not anticipate André Villas-Boas reviving his interest in his compatriot Raul Meireles who is set to remain a squad player at Anfield.

I'm not one for if's and but's. Honestly, there's no certainty Falcao would have joined us at all, or that he would have settled well. Given that Carroll has been injured a great deal of the time and has had less than 6 full games together and nearly all of those were with a still unfit Carroll and/or up to 5 other new signings I'd say it's still very early to judge how Carroll will do with us and whether he can strike up a partnership with Suarez. It's also worth note that a good deal of our problems when Carroll is on the pitch result from the way the midfielders and defenders change their styles rather than Carroll himself. That will be corrected with time and training. If he stills looks as languid and clunky at the end of this season then you have every right to say something about it, but for now it's all a bit premature, IMvHO.

Ah. Well it would be an interesting move, seems a little cheap for Zarate, I didn't think Lazio were that desperate (I guess this is the right word) to move him.

I really feel for Carroll. He slept at night of 30th, in his home town, on an absolute high, being hailed as the next England saviour, playing and scoring for fun for his boyhood club...and then 24 hours, he was forced out into a city in which he knew no body and his life style and everything had to change. worse of all, he was injured, and Suarez' amazing start, just raised the expectation from him as well. He himself, is frustrated at players playing long balls to him, in game vs Exeter, when Henderson crossed a ball to him, when he had to option of passing it on the floor, he got so pissed off and yelled in front of camera: "FFS Jordan, Play it on the floor". It's all matter of confidence with strikers, hopefully he can get a goal with England next week, it'll help him a lot.

Also, I believe the importance of his signing goes missing and how it brought the good feeling back to the club. Considering Everyone forgot Liverpool signed Suarez when Torres handed his transfer request 2 hours later, a feeling of selling club was hovering around the club, and Andy's signing was a statement of intent that kept the good feeling of the club. There was no guarantee that Suarez would excel so much in England (rememeber threads in old forum comparing him with Alfonso Alves, Kezman, etc), so the club had to react, hence the rejected 38M bid for Llorente on the 30th of January.

Thankfully, he doesn't have to carry the pressure now, since we have a good enough squad to cope with even when the 35M man is not in best of forms. He is a project, not a finished article at all. A lot of raw talent, and if his attitude is correct (like Lucas' was when he was booed off by own fans 2 years ago), he'd definitely get better and better and fulfill his amazing potential. He will learn movement from Suarez, now he is more settled, a couple of his best mates are at the club (Downing and Enrique), and he needs time to adapt. Dzeko until last week was a bad purcahse and look at it now, you are only as good as your last game Wink.

About this thread, RG told me to create a brand new thread for tomorrow...I'll do it on 6AM England time, which is in 3 hours time...so this thread will be retired in 180 minutes Very Happy

A few weeks ago the boys on Sky went on about how Newcastle United as a club fits like a glove for Carroll, and I couldn't agree more; the (different) Northern lifestyle, a near-telepathic understanding with Joey Barton swinging in balls from the right, a simple and direct way of attacking, great understanding with the captain/roommate, the fans...Should be in black and white right now...

I hope he finds his way, but the pass-and-move that has popped up since Dalglish's arrival and the beautiful, flowing moves that arrive from it, I just don't see how his skill set fits into that.
