I wish we signed A.Young could we have played him left or right and with Mata in team along with posibble Modric and Chelsea would be playing like United or City with pace and flair

Hiddink recommended Zhirkov to us. And I'm sure most of you would say you would trust his judgment. Just saying...

Doubt it will happen with very little time in the transfer window remaining.

Zhirkov is a good player, he had too many injuries to deal with. IMO he is better than Malouda.

TBF he is more then a LB he can play as a LM/LW, but the fact remain if Cole get injured or needs to be rotated he would be the first choice instead of PVA or RB.

Also i think Modric is coming, Spuds are playing shit right now and arry seems to want Modric gone because he knows it is the best thing for all parties. But the problem is Levy, he needs to swallow his pride and get this done. everyone will be better off in the end. We get a creative midfielder and Spuds can improve their squad with the sale of Modric, and rumor is Benayoun is also being offered in this deal.

Yeah but I still think it's not a good use of money, especially when we could be giving some youth game time if Cole is injured. I don't see how he'd play LW either with Malouda and Mata already there. However if we get Modric, I don't really care and will be happy

Maybe AVB sees like a Coentrao type role for him like can play holding too who knows.

i know mata isnt built in the "lampard build" but mata has played as the AM in a 4-3-3 before and i rekon from behind torres hes in the best place to replicate the torres-stevie G patership of old
or we could use this same XI and use similar tactics to the norwich game where we played a "4-3-3 cum 4-4-2" with mata and ramires slidng out wide

if not a 4-2-1-3 isnt too different from what we know already and would give mata a bit more space between the lines

although playing in the whole in a diamond modfeild is one of the hardest positions to play in and im not sure how suited mata may be to it but maybe worth a dig, this worked well for us at the start of carlos first season

Yes. Ramires and Mata are flexible. So is Pereira.

Mikel will always hold and Sturridge should be on the right so he can cut in.

That is the good thing about our starters. malouda and Anelka are not very flexible.

A good thing if he comes though is that he won't affect McEachran, and since we probably won't sign more than 1 player, Mceachran would get loads of game time.

Or a wide mid in a 4-diamond-2 or Christmas tree, a position which would be much more favorable for him
