Madrid/Barca and Oversigning Empty Madrid/Barca and Oversigning

Post by Grande_Milano Wed Jun 08, 2011 9:53 pm

Can go on and on how much depth these 2 clubs have. The two best club in the world with two best squads in the world. Looking at them play and on paper, you might think they need only 1-2 signings at max.
Madrid: Middlefielder (Sahin)
Barca:Reserve CB
Yet, they oversign, get players they dont really need, rot them at the bench, spend money on wages, inflate the market.
Madrid:Coentrao: Really, no love for Ramos or Arbeloa (yes I know u have a masterful masonic plan of moving the former to CB)
Altintop and Callejon: Depth? Common, look at your squad.
Possible CF: No faith in Benzema (so much appreciated) and Higgy? With CR banging in 40s, a CF?
Barca:Wingers like Rossi and Sanchez: Pedro pretty much does the job right
Cesc/Pastore/Etc as Xavi replacement: Dont need it now, as he still has it. Plus, Thiago Alcantra ready to go.
What is it? Strive for perfection?

Barca does not have allot of depth. Problem with Barca is that they are signing players for positions that dont require over hauls, but that does not mean they have a ton of depth

Only debate you can have here is about Aguero possibling coming, the rest is justified to some extent. If you give to your manager the opportunity to improve his squad, he will, and so far it's exactly what we have done.

You do have to consider that some are going to be sold right?

And Barcelona's depth is like the worst in europe lol.

Adriano, Maxwell, Jeffren (if not mistaken, he is in defence), Milito. Thus, I agree you lack a CB, but not fullbacks.
In 3 man mid: Mascha, Thiago, Keita, Hleb (he is still urs???), Jonatan
Attack: Affelay (can take Iniesta role too), Bojan.

So you just take all the transfer rumors you read and take them as fact and as if the team has actually signed them? Please, read a book.

I think winger is Barca's priority this summer, which is imo unneded. You cant have great players at the bench in all positions. Getting Rossi and Sanchez (both) and putting them on the bench, or benching Pedro is BS.
And before you jump at Milan: Cassano, still recovers and was not intended as cover. Pato is not a 100 percent starter (unlike Pedro), so they fight with Robinho over the place

who said they are getting rossi and sanchez? that makes no sense at all, you seem to be taking transfers rumors literally.

Barcelona need a quality back up, thankfully last season none of our front men were injured for over a month because if that happened Bojan or Afellay are not good enough to replace Messi or Villa for more than a month especially in crunch time during spring. As well as Villa having an extremely long goal drought and slump in form is just unacceptable but there was no one there to be able to bench him.

A winger for Barca will be signed, I am sure. Quite probably two.
If Messi gets injured, nobody will replace him. Its like trying to deal with a volcano.
Bojan needs play-time, getting a new CF is dumping his talent. Affelay too. So here is your cover for Villa/Pedro. Having another "Villa/Pedro level'' at back up is science fiction

Only one will be signed, that's why they are linked to Rossi and Sanchez who can both play centrally. Dont know how the sanchez link came about but i have read from credible sources that Rossi is what Pep wants.

So a Youth team player with a potential if becoming world beater, and proved it, will be forced to the bench? Or best La Liga player outside Top Duo a bencher? A stupidity like with Mascerano. Affelay is not worldclass, but decent and can change/rotate with Pedro. What happens with him? And if Cesc arrives, he evn loses the opportunity to change Iniesta at AM.

Who would replace Villa or Messi incase of an injury in your opinion? Bojan has not proved himself to be good enough to handle their role.

Most of the fans don't really want Coentrao and fully trust Arbeloa.

Pedro Leon was on his way for a long time so Callejon is pretty much his replacement. We didn't want Altintop either but I guess he will just cover the RB and other midfield areas.

Aguero suits us more than Benzema does imo.

Clubs dont plan for long term injuries. If they happen, players are signed/rented in mid-season. You cant have an eqaul replacement for Ibra, Etoo, Villa. This is fantasy. Everything else is enough for rotation. No need for Cesc/Anyone Else right now. CB department is only are that needs fixing. Everything else is pretty much solid

Well, even as I fan I pretty much understand that signing Ibra into a Tiki Taka team is an expected fail. And 25 m for Chygrinsky was not smart either.

That was 2 years ago, Ibra is being sold permanently this sumemr and Chryg is no longer part of the club.

Barcelona need a good forward that can give Villa and Pedro competition for their spots, and replace Villa or Messi incase of injury.

Ok, move on to Madrid now.
Sahin, Altintop, Khedira, Di Maria, Gago, Granero, Lass, M. Diarra, Alonso, Canales, Khedira, Ozil. Missed anyone? Wow just wow. Three teams right there, still cant beat barca.
Albiol, Garay, Arbeloa, Marcelo, Carvalho, Pepe, Ramos, still getting Coentrao+planning for CB (Mou wants Silva, etc)
Benzema improvement, Higgy 20s per season, CR 40s perseason, "we need a finisher"
