Re: Frustrated Messi...
Pure destroyers are overrated anyway. You need more people who can switch between defence and offence in no time + tactical brain. That's why I like Cambiasso, he plays DM but can outnumber in midfield when he goes B2B to support the attack when neededLionel Messi wrote:Either way I think we agree that Lucho and Alvarez don't work with a destroyer behind them, they looked lackadaisical and/or lost vs Venezuelababun1024 wrote:Banega isn't playing DM in my version, he is the more advanced one who distributes the ball. Cambiasso is your DM with box to box abilityLionel Messi wrote:Banega isn't a DM, Gago is a DM though he's decent defensively, but Cambiasso could play as lone DM as well, I'd prefer Gago because of his passing ability though.

Re: Frustrated Messi...
I agree Messi has shite service from the midfield. His team mates cannot feed him the ball properly. I mean Pastore, Banega, Lavezzi, Mascherano are shite midfielders. With Paraguays midfield Messi would score even more.
lmao he has the best midfield in south america. Messi needs to get his ass on the bench because he cant do shite at Argentina. Learn from cr7 just banged in 2 goals for portugal this weekend. Lionel 17 games 0 goals now? Not a flop indeed

That's because a) he's a great player.
b) he's a great CAM/SS
But he still isn't good at dictating the flow of an entire game, like Xavi, Mr. Piggy or whoever you like in current playmakers.
That's my point.
It doesn't make Messi a worse player, it just makes his coach a worse coach because he keeps playing Messi and expecting him to orchestrate his teams attacking efforts, when Messi is just better at sneaking through the cracks in the defence and making something out of almost nothing.
He's perfect at exploiting opportunities, but there's others who are better at creating opportunities.

Re: Frustrated Messi...
Argentina just needs to stop playing like 11 players and play like a team, there are tons of world class players in the squad but they just aren't clicking, its been this way since Maradona became coach.

Re: Frustrated Messi...
Argentines situation reminds me of Real Madrid last year. At the start all of the attackers played very selfishly. Ozil was the one to organize, it worked out somehow later. Pastore could do the job for Argentine but he needs more playing timeLionel Messi wrote:Exactly the same time Maradona became coachbabun1024 wrote:It became this way since Riquelme stepped down...Lionel Messi wrote:Argentina just needs to stop playing like 11 players and play like a team, there are tons of world class players in the squad but they just aren't clicking, its been this way since Maradona became coach.

Touché
There's no question that Pastore should have been starting for awhile now but as you know we haven't had a decent coach since Basile, Sabella is okay I suppose, I would prefer Bianchi or Bielsa by far. And as much as it hurts to admit it, Ozil is better than Pastore, but Pastore hasn't had the chance to explode like Ozil did at Real Madrid, I think Pastore will be a top 3 CAM in his primebabun1024 wrote:Argentines situation reminds me of Real Madrid last year. Pastore has got better attackers to feed so it evens out everything in the end Messi+Aguero>> Muller+KloseLionel Messi wrote:jiopsi wrote:Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. - Sun-tzuLionel Messi wrote:There are people that don't have xabi on foes list?

Re: Frustrated Messi...
You know what I rate Aguero for Argentine higher than even Messi The guy is more versatile, perhaps it comes from the fact that he played for a weaker team and had to do everything himself but he is dangerous in many more ways than just dribble your opponent and scoreLionel Messi wrote:Unfortunately he hasn't had the right opportunities to feed them and Aguero for some reason isn't starting ffs
I have no idea why he isn't starting

Re: Frustrated Messi...
I remembered the word, he is more direct, same with Pastore Less ball hogs, more direct players would help Argentine because you can't play possession game anywayLionel Messi wrote:Aguero is fvcking amazing. go to 4:25 in this vidbabun1024 wrote:You know what I rate Aguero for Argentine higher than even Messi The guy is more versatile, perhaps ti comes from teh fact that he played for a weaker team and had to do everything himself but he is dangerous in many more ways than just dribble your opponent and scoreLionel Messi wrote:Unfortunately he hasn't had the right opportunities to feed them and Aguero for some reason isn't starting ffs

Well, atm not in NT effectivity.babun1024 wrote:Pastore has got better attackers to feed so it evens out everything in the end Messi+Aguero>> Muller+Klose
And play-wise I wouldn't really want to rank them, especially if you see how the end results look like. If you look at the chances Müller creates in the German NT, he is pretty cool there, too. And Gomez certainly is prone not to use the passes he gets from Müller, or the boy would have racked up even more assists.
