R9 didn't go to PSV because he was a money whore. He wanted the challenge of showing he's the best and PSV was the stepping stone for him to bigger European clubs. He could've easily played it easy and stayed in Brazil.

Neymar is facing the same question... does he have the ambition to try and become the best player in the world? To do so, you have to play against the best in the world.

There's nothing wrong with either decision. It's a question of what his ambitions are currently.

The thing is that the window of opportunity for football players is really small. You can't wait long at all or certain things just go away.
