Young got pretty ridiculous with his diving, his dive against Villa was just  fell down like he dodging three rounds of SMG and practice successfully Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake at the same time.

Thought the scoreline was a bit unfair, even though Chelsea were the better team. But they got a huge helping hand from Atkinson who ruled a shot by Mata a goal when it in no way crossed the line whatsoever. The score was 1-0 for Chelsea at that point, and it really changed the game.

I'm not angry though Razz Even though I would have liked to see both teams suffer, I'd always rather be it Spuds than anyone else.

Also, I'm kind of worried at the fact that Chelsea are getting these ridiculous calls from the refs these past couple of games.

Hope Di Matteo is smart enough and rests some of his players. They really have a good chance of winning CL.

Really...

By the thread they were hanging on with at Stamford Bridge, you see them avoiding an onslaught at Camp Nou?

Don't get me wrong, they played their asses off but I just don't see them making it out of Camp Nou. And after that, with Bayern or Real? They've had a great run, made easy by a convenient series of opponents but I don't see them beating Barca and then Bayern or Real. I hope Di Matteo does though and goes softer against us.

No they dont. Barca will score at least 3 or 4, and chelsea might get one if they are really lucky

Regardless of their chances are, I think it's very possible that Chelsea will have one eye on that second leg and might not play to their maximum because of it. Then you consider that they've just played an FA Cup semi-final and a Champions League game, you wonder how much they've got to give for this one.

In any case, we still have to actually turn up and perform.

Even if Chelsea rest their players they will still have 11 players that can play, but have some players who help out the opposition more than they help out Arsenal, most games we play with man down. Very Happy

Plus Barca created loads of chances that they usually wouldnt miss, i dont see them missing those chances next week.

I would argue Chelsea didnt defend that great especially when you compare 2009...... they created more chances in first 45 mins then did over the 2 legs then.

It was just a question of Barca fluffing thier lines and Chelsea taking thier one and only chance.

In any case i hope you beat them eco smile

I really like this result not because of my hatred for Barca but the awkward position they're in. They are close to the final and probably see themselves having a real chance against Barca now. There is no way Chelsea can maintain their steady legs over three tough matches, knowing Abramovich, he will let the Arsenal game loose. It's a question of us turning up or not.

Gotta say this Chelsea is very different with AVB one, defend deep and organized, not at level of 2009 one but still adequate, never seen Messi that frustrated. Barca is still favorite unless some major injuries occurs during Classico.

Fabregas looked really lost, this season he never looks comfortable even during his scoring streak for me, very slow in term of movement & decision making, never open space. Sometimes I could see a little movement would really help Xavi or Busquet ( not Messi, he loves 12 with him) but they got cornered and had to pass back to the defenders. So yeah, come back to Arsenal, its your way of football not tiki taka.

Watched the whole game, should have been 4-1 to Barca based on score-able chances. But Chelsea, and Cahill and Terry in particular, defended brilliantly.

No doubt this would have tired out several players though.

Ivanovic suspended against us, whilst Drogba will surely be rotated after 2 high-profile games in 4 days.

I expect Di Matteo to bring in the likes of Bosingwa, Essien, Sturridge, Kalou and Torres against us. Their squad is strong enough to allow them to make so many changes. Luiz injured and Ivanovic suspended of course.

Rival Watch - Page 30 Empty Re: Rival Watch

Post by Sina Thu Apr 19, 2012 12:03 pm

Chelsea manager Roberto di Matteo has confirmed he is likely to make changes for Saturday's top-four showdown with Arsenal at the Emirates.
After backing up Sunday's FA Cup semi-final triumph over Tottenham by recording an outstanding semi-final first-leg win against Barcelona, Di Matteo is aware some of his players may be getting tired and he needs to rotate his squad.
"We will have to assess the players but there is a good chance some fresh ones will come in," said Di Matteo, who will take the Blues to the Nou Camp for the second leg on Tuesday.
The squad rotation for Saturday should mean the return of £50million record signing Fernando Torres, who remained on the bench throughout Wednesday night's 1-0 win over Barca, and probably Michael Essien, Florent Malouda, Saloman Kalou and Jose Bosingwa.
"I left a few players out against Barcelona because I have to make decisions," said Di Matteo.
"We will see about Saturday but I have it in mind to give one or two a start."
Chelsea are currently sixth in the Premier League but victory would, briefly, lift them into fourth spot, above Tottenham and Newcastle, and leave the Blues just four points adrift of third-placed Arsenal with a game in hand.
