Battlefiled 3 Beta

Ive been playing since battlefield 1942 and was thinking about downloading it to give it a try.

Has anyone played it yet I would like to know impressions??

I did, it was pretty good.. It was my first time ever playing battlefield so I had no idea what I was doing in the Rush mode

I pre-ordered the game to get something other than call of duty for once.. Is there a team deathmatch and deathmatch mode available in the series?

having your eyes gouged out is better than mw3

it does look brilliant but as a general rule i don't play betas... one more month till the game is released, i'd just get bored of playing the same map with 4 weapons over and over again

Beta is pretty good

Much, much more different to Bad Company 2 than I expected and seems to be a bit more tailored to COD players now in the sense that you die very quickly now and your reaction time is pretty important now

Also there are quite a few details and bits I think not everyone is aware of yet. Like how you can switch to the single shot mode instead of using the automatic method of firing all the time. Also I just realized this but the different factions have access to different weapons. I think one faction (cant remember if French or English) has access to certain snipers and the other vice versa so don't get confused if your using a type of sniper in one round and then you lose it because its just the faction your playing.

Anyway, great demo even though it can bug out in between games and getting into games

I agree great demo got it on pc and ps3

PC has alot of bugs they need to work out ie. falling through the ground when prone but overall it looks very promising I like how you can finally change the ROF this year because bad company for some reason didn't let you?

Its a nice change of pace from MW for sure. Im afraid i will have to get this for console as this rapes my desktop. It sucks because I see that the PC version will have 64 players which is awesome!

Never the less I will defiantly be getting this one after playing the demo I doubt it will disappoint unless they fail to get rid of the bugs in teh beta

I'm still confused as to how jets will work in the console version of BF3

PC can support jets because the computer can constantly be updated but i'm not sure if the PS3 and Xbox 360 engines are big enough to support in game jets and make a map big enough.

To be honest, I would of preferred a Bad Company 3 instead of Battlefield 3 but my patience for BF:BC2 is running out and I desperately need a new game

Played it today and wasnt WOW'd

its the same stuff in each of their games, Story mode is the best thing about Battlefield though

COD will win the war once again

I know this is Battlefield 3 but theres just all these tiny differences that are stepping away from the Bad Company series

Like when you shot someone in BadCo, your gun (especially shotguns) made a thunderous noise while in the BF3 Beta, it just seems a little too quiet

By the way everyone, I got a 6 man kill feed earlier today, flanked the f**k out of them in that underground train station and took so many lives

Played it on PC with all settings set to Ultra. Never thought my rig would be able to play a game that looks that awesome ... :bow:

@Senor Penguin I envy you LOL I cannot run that high with out lagging out.

@BiasedMilanFan I agree Some of the weapon sounds are way way off that mark. Most if not all the sounds in BC where epic.

Im sucking pretty bad right now but i hope I can get better my best score so far is 13 and 15 Sad

Do all the new EA games come with an online code? It would suck of BF3 has one, I want to be able to take it to a friends house and play online if I want to..

I don't know what to expect out of the game at all, can anybody fill me in on some differences between Battlefield and Call of Duty?

played one match so far,didnt like it,too CoD-ish,i used to like the large maps from BC2 where it was really free and you could snipe

I don't think there'll be an online code, but the whole point of that is just so people have to buy in first hand.

Well the Beta, if you played it, shouldn't entirely predict what you think will be the final product

Battlefield is almost entirely team based as opposed to CoD (e.g. free for all). There is an objective in conquest and rush (the two most popular game modes) and you get rewarded greatly if you play the objective and work as a team (e.g. killing an enemy= 100 points. reviving a teammate= 100 points. completely replenishing your teammates ammunition= 120 points). So while you can go a bit Rambo on CoD, you need to be a bit more sensible and a bit more calm and collected in Battlefield and not just run off.

One of the huge differences between CoD and Battlefield is the spotting system where, if you see an enemy, you press back or select (not sure for PC) and you put a marker over the enemies head and everyone on your team can see where they are and where they are moving for a short amount of time. Spotting, is arguably one of your greatest tools in Battlefield and is incredibly helpful for your entire team.

I heard somewhere the Beta ends on the 10th? I'm not sure if that's entirely true but I would say that good preparation for this game would be to get Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (my favourite game of all time)

Oh thanks, that's what I'm looking for.. A more tactical approach this time around.. Wouldn't this game most likely be better than Bad Company 2? It is after all the sequel is it not? lol

Well they're different games now

You die WAYYYYYY quicker in BF3 (at least in the Beta)
Bad Company 2 is a battlefield game but its side project game.
Battlefield 3 is the sequel to Battlefield 2 but a lot of Bad Company 2 elements are in BF3

I know it's a beta, but this really sucked. This Beta is released the same month the game is, so they're not exactly gonna change a whole lot.

Graphics is really bad, the audio is way off at times, the glitches are all over the place and the bullet strength on each gun is inconsistent. Too many issues.

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh.....nah
Audio does screw up a lot though and there glitches

But this is why they have the Alpha and Beta, so they can fix these little bugs
