What happen was that with that goal one of Cerro's biggest rivals, Olimpia, would win the championship. Cerro lost and Nacional are champions so everything is OK now.

The team was throwing away the match so that the other team will finish ahead of their rivals as the champions.

Apparently they did manage to concede two goals after that.

It happens often. Thats why this coming season a lot of the Derbies will be played on the last week.

Gremio lost to Flamengo on purpose on the last week so that Flamengo would win the Title and not Internacional.
