Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Zeman won’t block Borini exit
By Football Italia staff
Roma boss Zdenek Zeman has reportedly given his club the green light to sell Fabio Borini to Liverpool.
The capital club yesterday confirmed stories that the Premiership side were very interested in the Italian international.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Zeman has no objection to the sale of the player who was only signed outright from Parma last month.
Although Borini is a wide attacker who would seemingly be a good fit on paper for the 4-3-3 tactician, Zeman doesn’t see him as an irreplaceable figure within the squad.
Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini stated on Tuesday that the club are considering Liverpool’s offer for the Italian international.
It is believed that the Anfield outfit have made an initial bid of around €10m for the former Chelsea and Swansea youngster.
The Gazzetta says that Roma would definitely sell should that offer be raised to €14m. The capital club would then attempt to reinvest that figure for Siena striker Mattia Destro, who is co-owned with Genoa.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Roma close in on Yung
By Football Italia staff
Roma look set to capture German full-back Sebastian Jung this week as reports indicate negotiations reach an advanced stage.
In the market for cover on the flanks, the Giallorossi look to have decided to take the 22-year-old right-back Jung from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Earlier this week the understanding was that an agreement between the two clubs was reached, with Roma agreeing to pay €1.5m to take Jung on an initial 12-month loan, with a further fee set between €4m and €4.5m in place to make the deal permanent next summer.
The Corriere dello Sport belief this morning that those talks are at an advanced stage and could be concluded by the end of the week.
-------------------------
Looking at this purely from a chemistry point of view...this is an odd signing. I thought the same when we signed Stek since there's no Dutch speakers in our squad and it'll be the same with Jung since there won't be any German speakers...hopefully he knows English at least because Stek and Bradley can speak that at least.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Roma-Jung deal off
By Football Italia staff
Sebastian Jung’s anticipated transfer to Roma has fallen through after his Eintracht Frankfurt took him off the market.
Reports this morning had the two clubs as in agreement over a proposed transfer for the 22-year-old full-back, with Jung set for an initial 12-month loan, with an agreed fee in place to then make that permanent in 2013.
However, the player’s agent has confirmed that the move has been broken off, because of a technical decision by his employers.
“I want to communicate that last night the player was taken off the market, so the deal is frozen,” Mino Grillo told Radio 101.5 this afternoon.
“At the moment he is completely removed from the market, but then you never know with the market because it closes on August 31 and anything can happen.
“For the German club he is a strong player that has many attributes. This decision was imposed by the Coach.
“It’s the club’s choice. It’s not a discussion about economics, but rather about technical decisions at this time, where so many things can change.
“The negotiations with Roma were well underway.”
------------------------------------
So much for that, then
Would've been a strange addition anyway.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Just saw this tweet of a guy who claims to live near Borini:
"he lives close to me, and friends met him reported he is already with bags ready. Already a sure transfer." (Transfer to Liverpool)
I don't know how reliable it is though.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Liverpool FC agree £11million fee with Roma for Fabio Borini
by James Pearce, Liverpool Echo
LIVERPOOL are set to complete the signing of striker Fabio Borini after agreeing an £11million deal with Roma.
The Reds have been given the green light to discuss personal terms with the 21-year-old Italy international who will then undergo a medical.
The transfer should be completed in the next 48 hours and Borini will become manager Brendan Rodgers' first signing.
An agreement between the clubs was reached following lengthy negotiations after Borini made it clear he wanted to be reunited with the Northern Irishman.
Rodgers knows exactly what he's getting having worked with the highly-rated youngster at Chelsea and then signed him on loan at Swansea City towards the end of the 2010/11 season.
Borini joined Parma after his Chelsea contract expired last summer but was swiftly loaned out to Roma.
He made a big impression at the Stadio Olimpico, scoring 10 goals in 26 games in all competitions, and earned a place in the Italy squad at Euro 2012.
Roma bought half of his rights back in January when they entered into a co-ownership agreement with Parma and then last month they bought the other 50%, taking their overall spending on him to around £7million.
Rodgers made boosting his firepower the priority having seen Dirk Kuyt move to Fenerbahce and Luis Suarez called up by Uruguay for the Olympics.
With Craig Bellamy and Andy Carroll facing uncertain futures, Borini is unlikely to be the only striker signed by the Reds during the transfer window.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Bojan-Santon swap being mooted
Personally, I can see it since there's no way we'll fork out 28m for him at the end of the season unless he wins Capocanniere and even then, it's not guaranteed.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Genoa will sell Destro to Roma
By Football Italia staff
Roma are on the verge of signing Siena and Genoa striker Mattia Destro, the Corriere dello Sport is reporting.
Destro is wanted by the Giallorossi after the capital club agreed a deal with Liverpool over the sale of Fabio Borini.
The Corriere claims that Roma have held talks with Genoa and the player where a deal has been done for the forward.
It is understood that Genoa will take total control of the player’s ownership from Siena. They will then sell 50 per cent of the forward’s rights to the Stadio Olimpico outfit.

Indeed. We've wanted Santon for some time now, but heading back to Italy is a sideways step in his development right now imo...he's where he needs to be.

Re: AS Roma Transfer Rumours
Juan to rescind Roma contract
By Football Italia staff
Absent from Roma’s training session today, there are reports that centre-back Juan has agreed to rescind his contract with the club.
The Brazilian defender has in the past few months been consistently linked with a departure from the capital outfit, even as his inclusion in Zdenek Zeman’s pre-season squad indicated that he remained in the Giallorossi’s plans.
However, reports this morning suggested that he had reached an agreement with Roma to cancel his contract, which his agent has now confirmed are not wide of the mark.
“There is the imminent possibility that he will be leaving,” Michele Gerbino told Romanews.eu this evening.
“I cannot add anything about a possible destination, I can only say that we have had two offers and in the coming days with the player we will decide on the best solution.
“He has much respect for Roma and for Zeman. This is a decision that the player has taken and spoken to Franco Baldini about, who has then agreed.
“I would like to thank Baldini for not hindering this decision in any way.”
Various outlets are now reporting that the club have agreed to terminate his contract, which with a €4m salary still had a year left to run.
Juan is now expected to return to Brazil, but the anticipated return to Flamengo could be sidelined by a move from Bahia.
------------------------
Will be quite sad to see him go. he's been my favorite defender since the days of Aldair. Class act.
