Raul Vs Messi

The two most representative players of both rivals in recent times.

Let the flame fest begin.

Raúl because he's just cool.

Raul because he is a Atleti youth product, also one of the greatest strikers of our decade.

Messi will be held in extremely high regards in future, but he still has a whole career infront of him.

messi is the better player, he could go down as one of the best players in hostory which he already must be at club level

raul on the other hand one of the greatest spanish players and one of the best strikers in the last generation.. and of course the greatest player of all time in europe imo until messi surpasses his record..

and yeah raul is cool, messi is fat so raul

I'd take Raul over Messi anyday, my opinion though.

Messi is the better player talent-wise though.

You could have voted Raúl. There was nothing about who is better as player, it was just about who you like better

Messi is clearly the better player but Raul just oozes awesomeness that I just can't deny him my vote.

Most people have not seen that Raul, therefore they believe that Messi is simply better. They dont know how good Raul was then. Messi gets a lot of praises now from players and coaches. Here is what Raul got during his prime, I will just quote a few:

To put it in perspective, back then to us, Raul was "the shit". He was skillful, a big game player, and oozed class in every aspect of the game. I was lucky to witness such a great player, you guys should check out his games from 1998-2004ish.

Actually he is a great player even now, because his character seems to be absolutely impeccable on and off the pitch. There is a reason why people in Germany immediately adopted and worshipped him ever since he played for Schalke.

Yes he is still brilliant now, but most people in this forum dont know how good he was in his prime. Without a doubt in my mind, the best striker in Europe during his prime. I remember how scared I used to be when Raul used to play against my team (especially given the fact that we let him go at such a early age).

Without a doubt, the best chipper of the ball I have ever seen. Never in my life has someone pissed me off so much because of their awesomeness. But you just have to respect such a beast of a player.

Just to think, we could have had Raul this whole time. It would have changed the history of Atleti, and Real. That should have been our moment, but our stupid management didn't realize that. We gifted Real their "El Capitano", they havent looked back ever since. Meanwhile, recently we have not had any football players who are half as good as him.

I dont play football manager so much, but in real life he is not that good. He is on loan right now, not sure where though.

hes great though.. on fm.. playing fm 2011 in my second season.. finished second in la liga beat rm to break the duopoly somewhat

signed eriksen.. at 19 he is superb
