I think he could fight Sergio Martinez.

Yes, Martinez is way too big for him in reality and any normal Welterweight fighter you wouldnt think about putting against a full time middleweight. But Martinez was a light middle in 09' and Floyd is the WBC and WBA champ at the weight.

I guess its up to Martinez's willingness to go back to his old weight because you cant ask Floyd to jump up yet another weight.

I feel the same way about Martinez that i do with Pacquaio.

He's lost a few steps and it would be more of a name on the resume than an actual opponent that would cause issues on the night of the fight.

Although you could say i suppose there isn't anyone out there who could give Floyd issues to the extent he's in danger.

Ones thing for sure though, i want to someone with a style who could actually cause problems.... as looking back at it Canelo doesn't have anything which causing problems style wise.

Bradley does you would say.... he has the foot speed and inside game to cut off the ring at least.

Khan with his head on the game could also.... has the hand and foot speed to cause problems and the key thing which sets him apart from others he does actually have a good jab when he wants to use it Laughing he can win rounds without even getting close to someone.

Feel free to add anymore.

For the record, I agree about Martinez. I think the next fight he has against a really strong opponent, he will be in trouble. He fights Ward or Glovokin, its done.

Bradley is about as good a name as it gets.

Khan stylistically might cause a problem, but he keeps losing/struggling...he dont look anything like ready.

Bradley and Garcia aside and lets stick to weights Floyd is actually capable of fighting in....not many names.

Alaxander I guess, but I think its a pointless fight. Floyd will dispose of him incredibly easy.

Kell Brook is still unbeaten, though he hasnt really fought anyone of note so its a no-name fight.

Maidana has undergone a style change with his new trainer (Garcia's dad I believe). He still hasnt lost a fight clearly, both Kotelnik and Alexander got bad decisions victories and the Khan fight was a close loss many thought could of gone either way. If he beats Broner (highly doubt it) his name might come up.

After Mike Alvarado wins his next fight (I assume he wins) he could be a name, he dominated Rios in the rematch of the fight of the year (2012 I think) and has fought at Welterweight before.

At Jr. Middle, I dunno who there is for Floyd even remotely. Cotto rematch kinda pointless at his age, Erislandy Lara is meh and his style would make for the dulliest fight in history, Trout lost to Canelo and anyone else, as talented as they possibly could be, just dont have the name right now.

That being said, Floyd has fought twice in 4 months, so I expect he wont fight untill like next March or something. Things can change for a number of guys between now and then.

I mean not that long ago, Trout was a nobody who had fought nobody. Real quick he was beating Cotto up and having a close loss to Canelo.

Strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza has responded to trainer Freddie Roach, who recently fired Ariza from the corner of Manny Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38 KOs). In a sudden twist, Ariza is now working with Brandon Rios (31-1-1, 23 KOs) in Oxnard, California. Rios will face Pacquiao on November 23 in Macau, China. Ariza says Roach's health issues and declining physical condition is affected the way he trains fighters and lists Roach's record over the last two years to back up his words.

"Freddie can no longer physically push his fighters anymore. That's why it's caused a two year losing streak and it's getting fighters knocked out. At one time [Pacquiao] had a chance to beat Mayweather, but not now. Linares knocked out, Senchenko knocked out, Khan knocked out, Pacquiao knocked out, and this is just the start. They chose to listen to Roach and not to [me]," Ariza voiced on the social networks.

Am I the only one who's a big Adrien Broner fan?

He's basically been Floyds protege the last couple years. Probably wouldn't beat Floyd, but he's the future of boxing right now imo.

Yeah Broner is legit. He gets hit a little bit more than Floyd because he doesnt use his feet well (like Floyd did) and likes to stay in the pocket.

He has a similar defensive style to the current Floyd, but Floyd has unreal reactions, Broner simply has great reactions.

He hits incredibly hard at his weight and he will obviously move up because he is a really really big at the weight. Yes he is probably the future of Welterweight and will follow Floyd in the conquest of going up and up through divisions. He started at super featherweight, then went to lightweight and now fights at Welterweight where I imagine he will stay for a while. He fights Maidana next.

Not sure.

In terms of American heavies (because thats where the fall off has been, the Europeans are stronger than ever) I have heard it been suggested simply the athletes arent there.

Back in the days, the heavyweights were stocked through failed athletes from American football, basketball or whatever else. Now, those athletes have more chances (going over to play in Europe/China, other development leagues and various lower forms of the games which didnt exist in the 80's and earlier) in their favoured sports.

I guess that makes sense. Honestly haven't seen anyone worth watching in Europe heavyweights apart from the Klitschko brothers. Maybe its just me not looking properly. Maybe I've just been more interested in Light middleweights and Welterweights because of Floyd/Manny/Marquez/etc. I just haven't watched a really good heavyweight match since like 2004 or so.

Nah, even the other European heavyweights arent great. But compared to the 90's, at least there is some depth coming from the Europeans.

Some dudes depending on if its WBC, WBA or whatever, are in and around the top 10 include names such as Boytsov, Ruslan Chagaev, Manuel Charr, Tomasz Adamek, Pulev, Dimitrenkom, Abdusalamov and Povetkin.

All of them have been or would be totally smashed to peices by the brothers, so this aint me saying these are great fighters. Just they are some where in and around the top 10, all European.

Povetkin actually fights Wlad next, hes undefeated but he has been protected his entire career from the Klitschko's (his managers own words, not mine) and I expect a beat down.

edit: I also forgot Mariusz Wach, he went 12 rounds with Wlad even if in a clear decision loss. Though he has been banned and admitted to doping for that fight Laughing

BTW the best American Heavy is probably Deontay Wilder. I think he has some talent, might be a champion after the brothers are done.

He's 27, 6'7 and has great speed and athleticism for his size. Plus real power.

29 wins, 29 KO's, 0 losses.

Hasnt really though anyone I know other than Audley Harrison (who sucks bad and got stopped after a minute and 10 seconds) but still. Apperently he been sparing with Haye (Haye has a fight soon) and giving him absolute hell.
