Why Messi's Balon D Or 2010 was false

Ballon d´or is for the player who had the best indivual season(i.e how he performed) and NOT for the player in the team that won the most trophies.

Messi was the best individual player that season while sneijder won the most..

The main problem here is that the criteria for this award seems to fluctuate conveniently waaaaay too much.

>When Ronaldo misses an entire season then wins the world cup....the world cup is the most important competition in the world and somehow , after scoring less than 20 goals that year he wins it.

Conclusion: You have to be a superstar before the year starts to be considered for this award.

FIFA is like the anti AMPAS......if the Academy awards were given out by FIFA....Chris Nolan would be a 4 time best director winner.

It's sad that they do this because missing out on an award won't really affect Messi, in fact it would be positive for the game and it would reward players for the outstanding seasons they have..............

When the best player in the world wins, what is there to complain about?

Dont get why team awards have any impact on an individual award, makes zero sense, but for those who still insist on it, he won La Liga too.

Or is it written somewhere you have to win the CL to win the award?

Agreed it should have been Sneijder but Messi still had an incredible year.

Sneijder and messi both had astounding seasons, both deserved it maybe one more than the other but to say that either one of the two didn't deserve it is false
