I dont get my stuff from Bronzetti, EC is independent from him, but i have seen them using outside sources at times. Hopefully it's fake of course, but coming from them... they saw through the aguero and Coentrao deal months ago, and reported about it many times...

He has backtracked but he still believes that it is close to completion.

In a demented way, there's an obscure logic to this... Benzema was not only the CF but backing up Ronaldo on the left as the wing playmaker. If Benzema were sold, Neymar can pretty much do the same thing.

Aguero signing could mean the departure of Higuain.

You would be replacing Benzema/Higuain with Aguero/Neymar. Not the worst of trades if it happened. But completely unnecessary.

It would be like buying new toys because they're shinier.

It's impossible, at least from the understanding i have of the things going on. Perez fired Valdano for mourinho, he accepted to restructure the club for Mourinho, and out of a whim he would go and buy a plyer to alienate is golden coach? That sounds too hard to believe. Mourinho can virtually leave whenever he wants per his contract, so if perez does to him the same thing Abra did, oh my, he is gone, and the socios will bury Perez. Their fate is tied together in the bernabeu, since perez put every single egg he had in the same basket. IF Mourinho keeps improving, Perez is guaranteed reelection.

It might be a case agreeing a deal with Neymar and Santos to sign him next season . Neymar done want to leave this season ( apparently ) and Santos dont want to sell him now so maybe Madrid are doing pre-agreement deal to sign next .

Does that make any sense . Why buy a world class LB and play at RB . Why not buy a quality CB or RB ?
