Kindle 3G question Empty Kindle 3G question

Uhave a very important question about the kindle 3g. Ilive in the US, and my fiancee lives in Germany. Im gonna buy her a Kindle 3g and send it to her, but I dont know if it will work in Germany. Help?

If not, would the Kindle Fire work over there?

But would a US bought kindle work? Im sure they have kindles iver there so german-bought kindles will obviously work in germany,but would US bought one work?

Actually, I don't think it will.
The US version seems to have just the AT&T frequency built in, which don't match Germany's ones...
A UK one would work, though :3

Kindle has 3G, i dont even think it does
im not sure, im from canada and they dont ship fires here yet

And I'm pretty sure the Kindle Fire only supports the Amazon App Store in the US, so it'd be pretty useless.

What about the Kindle Fire? Since its Wi-Fi it should work in Germany right? (or just about anywhere for that matter...?) Anyone know? And will the kindle-droid store and apps work?

If you get the Wi-Fi version, sure, it'll work, but she won't be able to access the Amazon App Store in Germany, because of licensing issues.

The Kindle 3G works in Germany

That being said it doesn't have a wide selection of books in German, maybe just a couple dozen.
