‘Borriello will join Juventus’

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi has admitted defeat in the chase for Marco Borriello of Roma. “He’ll join Juventus.”

The Marassi outfit are looking for a new striker in January and Roma man Borriello, formerly of Genoa, was their top target.

However, the Italian international is now being paired with the Old Lady and Preziosi can see such a switch happening.

“I don’t think that Borriello will arrive at Genoa,” Preziosi told Radio Mana Mana Sport 24. “I believe that he will join Juventus who can offer him more than we can.”

Borriello is looking for a new club given that he doesn’t feature in the plans of first team boss Luis Enrique.

With the chances of netting Borriello reduced, Preziosi has set his eyes on a striker who Milan are also chasing.

“We’ll do something in attack because we haven’t scored that many goals – we could be complete with a striker,” the President continued.

“Catania’s Maxi Lopez is a player who we are interested in.”

Milan have actually agreed a deal with Catania for Lopez, but they’ll only net him if they fail to get Carlos Tevez from Manchester City.

Like I said in another thread, this isn't that big of a deal if other forwards are shipped off. If Iaquinta is used for a Montolivo deal and if we can get Amauri's salary off the books. I'm ok with this move. Conte clearly doesn't have a lot of faith in Toni, Iaquinta, or Amauri. So, Boriello will add depth if Quags or Matri were to get injured and he could be used in cup games.

This move isn't a big deal and it's not some epic fail that others are making it out to be. In fact, it's a good thing if this means Iaquinta is used for Montolivo and we can get rid of Amauri's salary.

If this means strikers will be leaving then I am ok with this move.

He's a good back-up to have.

I don't mind Boriello hopefully if he comes he plays or else it is wasteful for him

As long as quag isn't part of the deal and boriello gets a haircut.. I'm ok with it

As for Amauri, we were thinking of giving him to Milan for free as a Xmas present, that way we could 100% guarantee ourselves the scudetto title for a record 30th time...

He's a good striker, just give him the support from forwards and midfielders. His confidence will rise and he'll bang all kinds of goals like dem sik scissor kicks.

Matri is good just not as a lone striker- I understand that you never really rated him to my knowledge but the amount of people against him now is quite bad, he just doesn't fit the lone striker role like Quagliarella does
