Roma to buy Borini Empty Roma to buy Borini

Post by ErPupone Fri Jan 20, 2012 7:06 pm

According to Sky, Roma are ready to exercise their option with Parma on Fabio Borini. Stefano Okaka is set to go the other way on loan, with an option to buy. More news should be coming out on this soon. Borini had a fixed price at around 7 million euros, but that figure will change as Okaka is going to be part of the deal it seems.

Fantastic news.

He hasn't played much, but when he has he's always made an impact. He'll be a worthy option up front for us and at a good price as well.

Great news.

You can really see he is happy at Roma from the way he plays on the pitch works so hard constantly presses the opposition just the type of forward we need for our style of play and he has a bit of trickery about him as well, all in all a good piece of business by Sabatini...

Borini scored our 3rd goal today....2nd consecutive goal since his return from injury.

He's fast becoming a fan favorite here.

Thanks, very happy things are going well for Borini. He deserves a good club like Roma.

One thing for sure Borini knows how to score, did it for the reserves and on loan. I have no doubt he will continue to score for you guys.

Not only does he score! He runs after every ball as if his life depended on it. He has the most hunger and THAT's why he's becoming a fan favorite IMO Smile

aww it's not that bad. we have 3 striker positions which we'll rotate between Totti/Osvaldo/Borini/Lamela. Totti will eventually have to sit out some guys whether we like it or not. our depth is good because we have 4 attacking players that play completely different from each other. it's not like mancity/barca/madrid where they have several identical players that can play the same position the same way

Bojan will just be a super-sub

This could serve as some extra motivation for Osvaldo. I'm glad to see Borini doing really well, he's really exceeding the expectations I had of him. His two goals against Inter were great, the runs he made were absolutely perfect (watch his second goal carefully, the run was absolutely fantastic, great instincts). The guy really works his socks off, it shows he's really motivated and wants to stay put next summer. I would try to seal up the deal for the remaining 50% of his contract over the summer, to avoid paying even more next season... that is of course if he keeps playing like this.

totally agree, our frontline that was missing that finishing quality I think has improved so much.. Once Osvaldo too is back, wow.. Great four to rotate between, all wanting to compete for the edge! And loving Borini not only for his technical qualities but his hunger!

"Fabio is part owned by Parma, but if it was up to him, he would belong to Roma 100 per cent," agent Marco De Marchi told Radio Mana Mana.

"He loves the city and the club's fans, which was key for him to come to Roma in the summer.

"Borini is young and very smart. He has understood that he needs to be available to Luis Enrique and the team to increase his chances of playing with Roma.

"His character and the commitment he puts into training, in addition to his quality, has made him climb up the club's hierarchy and become a starter."

Borini set to net Italy call-up
By Football Italia staff

The Gazzetta dello Sport is today claiming that Fabio Borini of Roma will be included in the next Italy squad.

The Azzurri face America in a friendly on February 29 and the striker could be selected given the injuries to Antonio Cassano, Giuseppe Rossi and Antonio Di Natale.

Borini, still just 20 and an Italian Under-21 international, has never been called up to the full squad before.

In 16 games across all competitions so far this season, he has netted seven goals for Luis Enrique’s side.

The paper also suggests that Borini’s place in the Under-21 squad will be taken by Milan’s Stephan El Shaarawy for their friendly against France next week.

It is also being claimed that El Shaarawy will be selected by Prandelli for a two-day training retreat later in the season.

Palermo’s Argentine-born defender Matias Silvestre could also be looked at when the tactician holds a defenders retreat before Euro 2012.

Prandelli will name his squad for the Genoa game on Sunday afternoon.

Blog: In the shoes of Prandelli. With a friendly against America next week, Antonio Labbate considers some of the new faces pushing for a first call up to the Giro Azzurro.
