lol.Modric as good as him? On what planet? He is no where near good enough to be compared with Alonso.
You should have a look at him yourself. And why would the London media hype him...he isn't English.

Sir Alex should try his hand in Lucas ( Sao Paulo), I think he can be a great player in the Epl

Only in short passes but Alonso is superior in Long passes.

Thats your opinion
Inter vs Chelsea at the Bridge says otherwise in my opinion
Also Sneijder passes equally well with both feet...Alonso doesn't

Alonso's long range passing is far superior to Sneijder.
Sneijder just had one good season in Europe.Alonso has bossed plenty of teams in his career. He made Sneijder look Amateur at Anfield.

The hell? That's why they're after Modric.
Alonso's not leaving Madrid any time soon. Much less to ManU. Forget he played for LIVERPOOL?

If u are comparing regarding positions then no point comparing Sneijder and Alonso as they play different positions.Playing out of position doesn't necessarily make u amateur when passing.
Sneijder has so far one good year in Europe.Apart from that he hasn't done anything in Europe.Alonso has been excellent in Europe for years.

I could've sworn the question was "who is the better passer" not "who has done more in Europe"...
Is Iniesta is faster than Walcott now? Done more in Europe...

Lucas is pretty much already a Chelsea player...they just have to wait till January transfer window for his birthday to pass so he can come over.

The one that is joining Chelsea is Lucas Piazon, the Lucas he is talking about is highly rated and very expensive.

You just pointed out one match to say Sneijder is a better passer than Alonso.Similarly i pointed out another match where both played in which Alonso made Sneijder look like an amateur in terms of passing.

LOL,
Talk about pissing off Liverpool fans. First Chelsea try buy Stevie, He considers it.
Then Chelsea buy Torres. He is now hated by 'Pool fans,
United wins 19th title. More unhappy Pool fans.
Man u buys Alonso, Pisses off Pool fans even more.
What next, Reina to Spurs?
And Agger to Arsenal?
Then to complete it Suarez to City.
= Mass suicide of Liverpool fans.

@ Mars: Thought you were cool man.
I know you were joking though.
Reina > Spurs. Buahahahahhaa.
@ Sepi: You know that Alonso wouldn't even consider United, so what was the point of this thread?
@ guy comparing Modric and Alonso, LOL
@ guy talking about 1000 Lucas', it pisses me off too. Leiva's still the best though.

First of all, Alonso is arguably Madrid's most important player after Ronaldo and he is not leaving anytime soon. Secondly not everyone in this world is like Owen.

Re: Why don't Man U target Alonso to replace Scholes ?
This is one of the most ridiculous rumours ever.
1. Alonso would never betray Liverpool like that (althoouuuuuugh, traditionally he was more of a Barcelona-man, since his father played there + he is basque; he chose Liverpool over Real Madrid initiall, so he isn't THAT loyal), he even said recently that he could return to Liverpool in the future.
2. Alonso has at least a couple of seasons left in his legs, but he isn't the long term solution his price would justify.
3. He is far too important for Real Madrid to be sold. He is arguably even more important than CR.
side-note though, Real Madrid probably will improve his contract, his wages are quite "low" in comparison to CR, Kaka, Benzema etc.

What would we gain from selling Alonso? nothing. Money is not something we lack.
