Re: Real Madrid vs APOEL
they topped their group, beat defending champions inter, beat eventual serie a winners milan
i am not saying they are man united or barca level, but they had earnt their spot as a very good side in last year's competition

Madrid spent how much? Arsenal beat them playing direct attacking football. The only time Mou bested Barcelona, your team parked the bus...If you get Barcelona...easy... h2h... 4-3-1...easy...
So what? Over two legs 99% of the time Barca will win. Madrid pose a threat but over two legs it's incredibly difficult. I don't think Arsenal have a chance at them. Remember the Messi trashing?
Although saying they were fairly easy was probabbly not the best choice of words..
Yea, saying Arsenal were fairly easy is a farce. As I said they bested Barcelona playing ATTACKING football, a trait your team does not have. And they do not play them as regularly either. If Madrid face Barcelona, they will be outright favourites, no shame in that, but going on and disrespecting other teams like that is just wrong...

Spurs are scrubs. Like Apoel, CSKA and Lyon.

Now we have to face even more pseudo-humble behavior from Madridista's for half a month.
Last 7 years:
Liverpool
Bayern
Barcelona
Spurs
Lyon X2
Roma
Arsenal
Juventus
CSKA
Apoel
Your right, nothing but scrubs on that list.
Izzy, I forgot to mention that I'm ranting.
I respect you so I know you will bear with me at the moment since I am very very frustrated.
and btw, CSKA, APOEL and Lyon aren't big draws by any spectrum. Nor is Roma or Spurs
I know your ranting (saw your post in the Milan section )
I just wanted to point out the teams we have faced in the knockout stages for 7 odd years. The majority are not scrubs as people like to make out.
Thanks for understanding.
But you must admit, Madrid have had it considerably easier than the rest of the big teams. Only United have had more favorable routes.
I like the general humble behavior of Madrid fans here, but its not cutting it anymore.
Especially with this Madrid.

tbf making the CL QF makes immediately means your not a scrub. Not everyone faces Barcelona, bar Arsenal
Madrid fans,no need tojustify your draw. Its the CL, teams are there on merit, saying that MAdrid have an easy draw is a disgrace tbh...

I willing to admit we have been playing scrubs for 2 years now compared to the other big teams.
I just wanted to kill the myth that we don't play strong teams in the knockout round.

Well, unlike lil teams in Insignificanliga who go up against Barca and Madrid, APOEL are going to actually try and win and not bend over for a reaming. Hell, i'm going to put money on them winning in Cyprus

Re: Real Madrid vs APOEL
In any case if we win all our games we'll have to beat APOEL then Bayern (if they beat OM) then the best team out of Chelsea, Milan, Barca, Benfica in the final.
That is not easy imo.

I thought that when I saw this too :lol!:
Anyhows doesn't surprise me, Madrid ain't faced a "5 star" side aside from Barca since Mourinho has taken over and we all know how that's been going.

The return leg will be in Madrid for the 1/4. This will also be the case for the 1/2 if we progress.

If all goes according to plan we'll play Bayern in the semi's and after that there is a chance we'll play Milan in the final after they beat Benfica in the semi's.

I agree. Not joking, a team with nothing to lose is a dangerous one.
