The Allianz Arena (Bayern) has a capacity of 69,901 spectators, 66,000 for internationals, because UEFA doesn't allow proper stands.

The Signal Iduna Park (Dortmund) has a capacity of 80,702 spectators, but only 65,614 under UEFA specifications, because, again, lots of proper stands. And UEFA frowns on affordable tickets for the working class.

Both venues basically sell out every single home match. Both clubs have attendency rates of well above 95% for the past couple of seasons.

For this match, Dortmund could have sold 450 000 tickets though. There were as many requests!

Think of the Südtribüne as the Kop but twice as large. Literally. (Kop = 12,500 capacity, Südtribüne = 25,000)

But of course it's the Kop that's world famous -_-

Berlin, Schalke, HSV... Yeah, pretty much all German clubs got stadiums of about that size, the Signal Iduna Park is the biggest one, though.

Most German stadiums have big standing sections but no real kop.
Mainz has a small one:



In most stadiums Just one part of each "curva" is a real standing section but it's not like the people who bought tickets for the seats on top of these sections will sit.
