Levantes was a 100% penalty, the position of the hand does not matter at all,and I also thought that our penalty was a penalty, maybe soft but still a penalty...

I thought shoulder pushing is allowed, but pushing with your hands is a foul.

I know.. I mean if you dont like barca or our player then dont come to our forum/thread. Its not that hard, I hate real madrid and all of their player so I very rarely enter real madrid thread and I have only entered the real madrid section just once, and that was to congratulate them for winning the cup final last season...

The Benzema and Puyol one is at an odd angle like said above it looks more like a shoulder to shoulder instead of a push to the stomach, mind you i might be wrong just looking at it from that gif.

Those videos do not answer my questions. I just gave two very similar situations. One was called a penalty and the other one wasn't. Is it penalty or not?

That is the problem with refereeing these days. As a referee you should not be able to overwrite the laws.

Same here but it seems that there exist rules for them then there exist rules for us. If you push an opponent with your hands inside the penalty area then its only a penalty for them and not us, the same applies if you pulls someones shirt its only a penalty for them while for us its a gift from the ref

For me, I thought that the benzema was a penalty when I saw the game. But the thing was that the ref was a spastic, he didn't give that penalty nor did he give us a penalty for one of the fouls that pepe did on sanchez inside the penalty area nor did he sent off diarra...

I agree with all those. Pepe foul on Sánchez, Lass second yellow card and Coentrão scissoring Messi twice and getting away with only one yellow (and I'm sure lots of other decisions that went wrong for both teams). Not sure why, in any fans section, you speak something remotely against that club and people automatically get into defensive stance straight away

My question is very simple. Forget about the colours and teams. Just two situations, very similar but different outcomes. You just can't say 'ref used different criteria' because the rules are set in stone.

The same problem I had with Nesta's penalty call on Busquets. Is it a foul? Is it not a foul? YES, IT FREAKING WAS A FOUL! It says it in refereeing rulebook. The problem is not Bjorn Kuipers, it is 90% percent of referees who put a blind eye to those sort of challenges.

I agree 100% with what you said...

...but the thing is though, ref do used their own criteria. Which is sad, because the rules are already complicated enough so we dont need them making it any more complicated..

I don't see why the ref's decision needs to be discussed this much. Barca got a soft penalty, Levante got a soft penalty, in the end it evens out.

Rules are not set in stone. They are open to interpretation which is subjective.

However, outside of the box that is a foul.

Not a convincing game but still a win that keeps us contention for the league race which is important. 63 goals now for Messi. Unbelievable from an unbelievable guy. Not too impressed by Thaigos and Fabregas performances this year. Oh well, I guess there is alsways next season...

Is it just me who has noticed how horrible the pitches have been when we play away from home? The ball bounced so much today and everyone was slipping around

Pitches, Referee's... What else do Barca have to face to get themselves annoyed at... Oh I forgot Madrid...

Aren't you jumping to conclusions? The most important matches of the season are still to come.
Regarding Thiago, he has had his moments this season. Fabregas not so much, though he's scored some deciding goals.
I think both players are played out of position by Guardiola - that's why they are underachieving a little.
Remember, still 3 CL matches to go, if we reach the final. Add onto that 5 league games and 1 Copa final. That's 9 games we have left. 9 important games.

Yeah I noticed this. That pitch was horrible. You could see all the patches in the grass.

Not a great game from us.We started off well but missed chances and the after their goal we were very poor.
Messi was on a walkabout.Atrocious attitude and reminded me of ronnie's last days.But the guy is so good and so lethal that even when he plays at 10%( I dont think he was even playing at 10%),still ends up scoring 2 goals.Still atrocious attitude.
Alexis was disappointing and so was Pedro.I am with free on this.I dont care how many players he dribbled in Serie A but based on his games for Barca he is a poor dribbler.
Cuenca came on and immediately showed Alxis how to dribble.Was the MOM for me.Came on and changed the game.Continuously beat his man. Involved in the first goal and won the penalty.Once he adds goals to his game he can be a very good player.
Pedro's decision making was awful.Needs to improve.
Masch and Puyol had good games.

On the tactics i think Pep messed up by playing 3-3-4.He was counting on the width provided by Pedro and Alexis to stretch Levante and free up the middle.But both are poor dribblers and Levante werent bothered.
Levante clogged up the middle and whenever Messi had the bal he found 2 players in front of him cutting off his passing and dribbling options.
It would have been better to play a normal 4-3-3 with Adriano and Alves from the start.Playing 3-3-4 meant that Adriano couldnt contribute in attack.He is excellent at driving at the defense,getting to the byline and cutting the ball back.Alves providing width on the other side would have been better than Alexis.This would have meant Alxeis and Pedro playing a bit more inside and thus providing more options for Messi to play combinations with,something which he sorely lacked.

Highlights of the game were the Thiago flick and the Alves double hop when he came on.Love the Alves hop.

I guess I am a bit. With the more important games to come, Im sure Pep won't play Thiago too many times. Fabregas will though. Im just saying that Pep may find the full potential of these players next season, not neccessary this season even though we do have some importnant games
