One thing stopped Barca

Do you actually believe in luck?
It would sound strange but i think Barcelona are better than they were last year. They played amazing in all matches. One thing stopped them: LUCK

All other arguments about tactics, coaches, players are useless. This team had everything except a luck

No need to be upset. The God decides everything. He/She gave us 16 titles in last years, he gave the team the luck in last seasons, remember Iniesta's last minute goal? That time Barcelona didnt play or create so many chances. but the luck was in Barca's side

This exactly happened against Chelsea. we gave them pain now its our turn to take the pain

Blaming losses on luck is what losers do. Barca are out because because most of their players are crap at shooting. Iniesta, Xavi, Busquets had acres of space on the edge of the penalty box (unlike Messi) but always opted to pass the ball side-ways instead.

Oh, and Barca have got no plan B against bus-parking teams besides passing the ball side-ways endless times. It wasn't luck that cost Barca, they were simply outplayed.Chelsea defence is far better than Barca's offense. Do you know Barca have not won their last 8 games against Chelsea in the CL? Chelsea had 3 shots on goal both legs, and guess what? They had 3 goals...

Ramires and Drogba are proven goalscorers unlike Barca who can count only on Messi. If Messi does not score, Barca will never win!

We all know on a better day Barca would have romped chelsea 4-1 at home, and while I didn't see the game today, Messi doesn't miss and Barca are 3-1 (ninja edit: oops it's my understanding it'd go 3-1 up)up on their way to the final. Not to mention Chelsea putting away each chance they had.

It's lack of decisiveness from Barca, and decisiveness from Chelsea, but we all know that Barca were fully capable of beating Chelsea, but were unlucky enough to just...not quite do it.

In my opinion, it's very unlucky from Barca. It's very unlucky and I don't see where that's being a sore loser.

If you look at it the way you guys are looking at it, almost everything can be declassified as luck, but I think you guys are looking at it too harshly.

Yeah, it was all misfortune that caused Barca to lose, and had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that they were poor in front of goal. Guess what I'm going to say when a Barca player scores next? "Oh, that guy is SO LUCKY..he actually scored!", since you claim that scoring is down to luck.

Remember, the last time Barca won anything, they had Villa, Messi and Pedro to share the burden...but today they had only Messi. Basically, without Messi to score, Barca crumbles.

If you say no, cool, but you're probably not a Barca fan.

Look at every little incident... yes, you just put it down to Barca choking in the vital moments and Chelsea taking their chances. The fact that Chelsea have been so miserable all season and then took these chances with aplomb is certainly bad luck for Barca. The fact that 9/10 we probably would have scored more goals is bad luck for Barca. The fact that Messi had his worst game ever is bad luck for Barca. After burying goal after goal he missed three easy chances.

Poor execution, yes. But I've always said the only way to beat this Barca is with a bit of luck that you catch them on an off day... Its true.

No, it was simply because Chelsea wanted it more, even the greatest talent cannot stand in the way of that "detemination and hunger to succeed"! Chelsea didn't want it more at all. They were great, and all the things you say, but I don't doubt our players' efforts for one minute. We never gave up. Yes we invite that sort of wall, but it doesn't take away from the fact that it makes it so difficult to play against. We tried and tried and tried. As Pep said, we didn't get it right in the big moments, that is all.

In 180 minutes we got through them about 10 times... Chelsea's defence was superb, not impenetrable. We would have eventually scored. It took us just 2 minutes to win a penalty after coming back out... But what happens ? Miss. Luck, poor execution etc etc. Whatever. There is a sense of injustice for obvious reasons.

Just from statistical point of view: you don't lose 3 times in a row just because of bad luck

There're many reasons why you perform worse than last year but the main one is Pep Guardiola's tactics / signings.

Add player selection to the list.

It wasn't the lack of luck. It was lack of respect towards rival team and wastefulness.

Barca played like this whole season. Missed chance after chance becase players think 'yeah, whatever, we will score next'. Lack of concentration and clinical finishing. I miss old times when we killed teams with passion. 08-09 season, goal, next goal, no backpasses, another goal.

After Chelsea game some people said that Barca didn't win because they had head on Clasico, after Clasico that they have head on Chelsea game. What now? After 2-0 they had eyes and head on Munich final? 2-0, HT in a minute you can't concede stupid goal like this. That Ramires goal changed the game and won the tie for Chelsea.

Overall, Chelsea wanted it more and were more concentrated and disciplined. Despite being outplayed in both games they progressed to the final because that's football. You can be outplayed and win it happened many times.

The idea of 'luck' is just a made up human concept. It is what you want it to be. You can say it exists, you can say it doesn't. There's also a saying that one creates their own luck. Thats the best way to look at it. We made it difficult for ourselves all season and brought this upon ourselves. We made our own bad luck. It doesn't mean Chelsea didn't have a bit of fortune to go through. Torres admitted it too.

Barca should not feel any sense of injustice like they actually deserved to go through simply because they had more possession or number of shots at goal. You see, at the end of the day, what matters is the numbers on the scoreboard.

1. How does scoring goals show you want it more??? It shows they are clinical, and our defence lapsed in concentration at key times. A lack of hunger isn't evidenced by how clinical you are, its about how much effort they seem to put in. Barca players didn't disappoint their fans with their attitude. No lack of hunger. End of story.

2. When they went through there was a collection of bad misses, great saves from Cech and shots against woodwork. An extremely unusual collection. Very rarely does this happen. Put aside possession, possession is our mechanism for control, but its not why we claim that we are always the dominant team. What we had was more chances to win this tie than Chelsea, simple as that.

You're right, the scoreboard talks, we all know that. When you have that many chances to win and the other team has so few, and you end up losing... you feel injustice, as if the game is fair. Everyone knows this, stop talking as if you're some sort of robot. Every single Chelsea player knows it as well.

Chelsea played to their own strength (defence), just as Barca did to theirs (attack) and ultimately, Chlesea's style was the superior of the two. Please, stop with all the "Barca deserved to go through because of this and that" nonsense...that's just losers talk.

Well, if Barca wanted it more, they should have won then. Simple. Real winners don't let LUCK decide their destiny! If this was roulette, I would agree and say Barca were unlucky, but this was a football match for crying out loud! If matches depended on luck, then Barcelona must be the LUCKIEST team in the world!
