Yup, confirmed by the club themselves. I'm rooting for Martinez to get the post...

Matty Duckworth ‏ @Matty_D_LFC
Seriously, why sack someone after a year in charge purely because they didn't get into the top 4? We're turning into Chelsea.

Al-Habsi to Pool? hmm

I really do question if the Liverpool fans would give Martinez the time he needs to turn it around.... top manager no question but he will need time.

Would he get it hmm

They are coming from so far behind that they dont exactly have the choice do they?

Unless they go on a spending frenzy and attract the best talents across Europe, which i doubt will happen.

Red reckons they are struggling to attract some of thier targets so your probably right.

Also Cheers Zeal for replying to Bhends you just saved me 5 mins Very Happy

Also Bhends why do you question Martinez but say they should go for Lambert and Rodgers? whats the difference really? if anything Martinez is more proven.

Wigan's been in the EPL since 2009, and despite bringing in more than 100 million pounds more revenue than Swansea and Norwich over that period (in TV deals alone) Wigan were battling relegation all year while Norwich and Swansea were comfortably mid table despite it being their first season in the EPL...That reflects very well on Lambert/Rodgers and not so well on Martinez...

They have been in the EPL since 2005 bhends
they have barely spent money
they have spent smart money and they always sell their best player

Martinez has done a great job with Wigan, he has always impressed me as a coach
plays some fantastic football and his teams are pretty tactically great
He deserves a big club job, so I dont think he should go to Liverpool
Villas-Boas maybe?

Swansea's core was set up by Martinez, so he gets credit for that imo.

Wigan will get better next year imo if they sign smart and keep Martinez. They are good and underachieved this year thanks to their poor start.

Plus "second season syndrome" is likely to hit Norwich imo. Swansea have a solid foundation and playing style, they won't go down unless they sell their good players.

"There used to be a football club there"

No one is bigger than the club and that applies to the owners...they know *bleep* all about football.

If Kennys not good enough for them, then neither am I....When every manager since Shanks has left Ive gone on with the Club.....today for the first time in my 51 years I think maybe its time to get off

A decison not founded in football but greed for the riches football can provide.

Fck it , I've had eneough....ok! modern football, you win!

Some of them are taking it pretty hard lol

Also all of them are ripping on Martinez since they expect him to be like Hodgson. WTF they are completely different Suspect

You have to take into consideration that Wigan is the smallest club in the league. They always sell their key players after every season and have to constantly rebuild, whereas those 2 clubs have a more core group that need 1 or 2 adjustments.

That's why Wigan struggle every year.

Its a possibility of course, but if they didn't go down this year, I think the chances of them going down decrease dramatically because now they get dat revenue increase...
